I finally did it

Well, after putting it off and putting it off I finally gave in and dropped my car off this morning to get my windows tinted. 35% all the way around. Can't go to dark due to the Jersey laws and it being illegal to tint your windows at all in the front... hopefully i wont get to many tickets but its definatly worth it....I'll throw up some pics when I get her back later...

Way to go, it will look real nice. What colour's your G?
I like 35% because it's dark enough that you can't really make out a face but you can tell if someone is in the car or not. My cop buddy told me that as long he can:
a) tell if someone is in the car
b) preferably determine male or female
then cops are generally OK with that and won't bother you. At least around here.

I've been putting off getting my G tinted too. I'll have it tinted by next week. Maryland law only allows 35% tint as well. I think thats good enough for me though and since my baby is black it should look real nice

ya i put it off for way to long...i was planning on doing it almost exactly when i got the car but never got around to it. but i got the G back and it looks amazing...the color is IP which made me think that it was going to look very light in the sun but surprisingly its not that bad...and at night it looks very dark...parked next to my buddys mustang with 20% it looks almost the same......over all the guy did a great job, no bubbles or anything and he tinted all the way to the top of the window...so over all im happy

I have had mine 5% in the rear and 35% the front doors and no tickets for the seven months I have had them like this... and cops in Cali are picky. You will be ok with 35 all around.

I have the same setup and even got pulled over one time for something else. The cop didn't say a word about it.

Especially if they're in a state like CA, where the tint will serve as probable cause to search for other illegal modifications. And in CA there are a lot:

http://www.chp.ca.gov/html/streetlegal.html

I always cared more about performance than looks, so I went for sleepers. e.g. engine swaps with no outside visible changes at all, except perhaps some extremely non-flashy, functional changes to the exhaust.
