Clear Bra Kit
Just as an FYI. I had a clear bra kit installed on my 08 Journey two weeks ago, can I say huge mistake! Body Shop strongly reccomended not having it on. Upon removing the clear bra because I noticed color fade and dirt developing at the lines, the adhesive glue was all over the hood and there was a visible difference in color on the hood. All im saying is, if you plan on taking it off in a year or two beware because it took me over 2 hours of rubbing, polishing, waxing, and adhesive remover. So not worth it! And this was just after two weeks, it may be impossible to remove it after 2 years.
If a good clear bra is properly installed you shouldn't even notice it. My friend has had 3M on his black car for a year and you can't see it unless you're looking for it.
I'm also not surprised that a body shop might oppose us using something that protects the finish on a vehicle so that we don't need to pay them to refinish the hood and bumper at some point.
I will definitely get him to bra mine this spring right after the finish is detailed.

Thanks for the replies. I just had enough of the rock chips and the bra seems to be a wise choice. So far I hear more good experiences than bad ones.
