I dont think much is going to be done to the body of the car. Its getting a new trans, a new motor, some new style rims, and a BBK.

probably same treatment the coupe got. new headlights/taillights, new sideskirts.. simple stuff like that.

would be awesome if they cleared out the headlights like the 05+ coupes, and put the amber separate so that the jdm counter part can be bought and swapped out

I am curious. Does anyone know when Infiniti plans to make the "official" 2009 announcement? I spoke to a dealer near by over the weekend and he verbally confirmed 7sp G37 sedan...

I would like to know what the redesigned side view mirrors will look like and also what do they mean by power door locks with automatic locking?

Will the redesigned side view mirrors have indicators on them and when you put the car in reverse will the mirrors tilt down?

Are the doors going to be locked as soon as the veheicle is put in gear?

I've had autolocking on most of my previous cars...once you hit 5mph they lock, and then unlock when you put it back in park. It might be an upgrade for us as usually it's just software.

I've seen this and other pics of the 2009 for the EU...doesn't look like much of a change. Integrated park sensors front and back, and side markers, new side mirrors, different wheels, headlight washers - inside more matte finish on materials, different heater switches, different door pulls.

Body panels/front fascia seem the same. Side mirrors should be a direct fit replacement if we like them as i doubt from a manufacturing standpoint they would change the door panels to accomdate mirrors. I think they will have a power close option. Which i used to have on many of my cars and will want to add.

Oh, and a different engine and tranny.

All from left lane news and a few other sources. I doubt any major changes as the big news is the engine/tranny.

Just my thoughts.

Ok, i think i found the answer to my question....looking at the options available on the 2009 fx from infiniti's website, the fx have standard dual heated power-adjustable and folding outside mirrors, and as part of the premium package outside mirror has reverse tilt-down.

They didn't give much detail on "Power door locks with auto-locking feature."

It'd be nice if they reworked the way the doors unlock with the i-key. On the new FX, you just have to touch the door handles for them to unlock and not hit a button. Lexus does this too.

While not a big deal, I figured it'd be a nicer touch.

I welcome the bigger brakes, bigger engine (we'll see if they up the power or keep it 306 like in EU), dials for seat heaters. I'm a 6MT guy so the 7spd isn't a big deal, but if I was an auto guy it'd be up there.

Not digging the wheels though, but that's simple to change. Reminds me of feelings I had when the 05 G35 came out; generally better and somewhat regretful for getting an 04.

However, I've had an 07 now for some while and am happy with it. I'll only keep it for 1-2 more years and then get something else.

I'm excited to see where the engine output falls. The G37 Coupe still has not grown on me and if the Sedan matches its power with its sexier lines, better utility, and less weight, then it's a total no brainer.

the fx has the intelligent button-- it's just chrome to blend in and you can't see it.

look at the 2003-2004 G sedan, then 2005-2006 made changes to a lot of parts like the hood, fender, bumper, grille, headlights.... even though some people dont notice it but the changes are there. same goes w/ the 2006-2007 M and the 2008.

Friend of mine test drove the FX yesterday... said the doors auto-lock at 10(i think?) mph and auto-unlock when the car is shifted into park. I assume this won't be available on the manual.

I would assume that the Auto-Lock will engage, but will not auto-unlock....

Maybe if the car is not in motion and the e-brake is pulled... but I'm just speculating of course

My 1994 Grand Prix locked as soon as I put it in drive and unlocked when I turned the ignition off.

I think that was pretty good. The only slight improvement would be a door lock that would instead unlock when you tried opening the door, provided the car was not in drive.

(You could be in a situation where you turn off the car, but still want the doors locked)

I think the seats are going to be cooled as well for the US model, because looking at the 2009 fx owner's manual, it states that "The climate controlled seat warms up or cools down the front seats by blowing warm or cool air from the surface of the seat."
