C&D did it in 5.0 seconds. I have the article but no scanner It also traps at 102mph so at higher speeds, its about as fast as the 07/08 G35. Pretty impressive for a 4600 lb truck!

I really doubt that a G37 Sedan will be out by this October! I know there isn't much to improve on. They fixed a few packages/added a few colors and of course put side signals on the side but shouldn't Infiniti save its new sedan for like late 2009 cause the current one came out a year ago?

306 + (Whatever new) + VVEL + new transmission = huge. Why put it out so early?!

As stated before, the currently 07/08 G35s (whether S or X or XS) dominates this class. These cars are fast/sexy/ and most for value. This car can def compete with the new audi a4 that comes out late this year. The only real downside is its weight (i believe) and gas mileage?

(side note: local dealer said that the currently g35 sedan or 2009 G35 Sedan will have a 7speed transmission. I do not know if it will have VVEL. Does anyone else have info on this matter?)

I agree with you, I saw the same c/d article. If anyone doubts this just go to the c/d website

I would love to have a debate with whoever is going to buy the new A4s. My G is still light years ahead of that crowd. The only thing I will give them is the fit and finish, the quality of the material is better than the G but the layout in the G is much better. Did I mention the G is still cheaper than the '09 A4 v6.

+1

but please don't use the word 'cheaper' when describing a G. 'Less Expensive' sounds sooo much better.

cheap - [cheep]
of little account; of small value; mean; shoddy: cheap conduct; cheap workmanship.

definately not a good word to describe a G.

LoL my point was that, that is one of the newest sports/luxury sedans that will be released this year. I mean we already beat the 335i/IS 350 and the new MB C350 sports. The only thing the G35 hasn't been compared to is that new A4.

Soakgame - As for body styles for 7 years, sales figures show that period to be too long. Lexus is not the best comparison lately as their sales are down double digits. Infiniti, on the other hand, is holding strong and actually growing.

If you like the way a car looks, drives and what it does for you...i would not bother with worrying about the body style changing every 4-5 years. It's the way of the world these days.

Like it, buy it, drive it...live with it. It's a great car that will age nicely.

And we do know it'll be called the G37. It's just a matter of when it will be available and what the exact changes will be.

you are right, my apologies to people on this forum, our G cannot be referred to as cheap, not a worthy word for it.

Sorry if this is a repost...

Infiniti says the 2009 G lineup will include a new convertible version of its G37 Coupe, a four-wheel-drive G37 Coupe and a G37 sedan as the new versions roll out over the next six months.

The big news is the long-anticipated convertible edition of the G37 Coupe. Set to launch in the first quarter of 2009, the convertible will be the first droptop spun from the G hardware. A three-piece retractable hardtop provides the sun on cue, and the audio and climate control systems have been tuned for performance in top-down mode. The Convertible shows its sunny side first at the Los Angeles auto show in November.

The newly christened G37 Sport Sedan gets the uprated V-6 that had been the province of the Coupe last year. Rated at 328 horsepower, it's teamed with either a seven-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. The engine stays the same in all versions, but the new G37 comes in base, Journey, 6MT and AWD versions, starting in September.

For the Coupe, the big news in 2009 is the addition of a four-wheel-drive G37x AWD model. The seven-speed automatic also becomes an option, along with the standard six-speed manual. It's rated at 300 hp, and goes on sale in September as well.

Unicode support?

My question is related to this thread in G35 Sedan forum:

https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sed...o-display.html

Does the new G37 Sedan user interface support Unicode to the extent when it can display non-Roman (non-English) characters?

For example, if I hook up my iPod to my X5, I can easily browse through a mixture of English and Cyrillic titles. They are displayed and sorted correctly. The last time I tried to connect my iPod to a new FX35, I could only see English character. If a song had Cyrillic characters they are replaced with an underscore or a space. That make it almost unusable when you have an album full of tracks with non-English titles. All you see is a selection list of a dozen of invisible entries. You can scroll through them but it does not help to navigate at all.

Does Infiniti put fonts for other languages into their cars now?

Thanks!

PS: by the way, a few months ago when I was in the market for an SUV for my wife, I was very inclined to get an FX. But the fact that it was too new (and hence presumably full of bugs) and its inability to display Cyrillics turned me away. It is such a simple and inexpensive thing to do. I don't understand why they don't do it. BMW does! To do justice, I have to confess that Infiniti was not the only one who failed this simple test. Porsche, Mercedes, and Audi failed miserably too. They failed in the same or similar fashion like Infiniti did.
