Nothing 100% definitive yet (e.g. no post that has the actual scans of the ordering guide), but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's legit.

Apparently this all from the US MY09 ordering guide that was just released. VQ37 engine, 7 spd auto, scratch shield paint, bigger brakes...I'm now very happy that I waited and did not pull the trigger on the '08.
I wouldn't buy a first year of a new anything (new engine/trans). I made that mistake with my 2002 maxima. So when my 3 year loan is up, that will be the time. Unless there's a total redesign in that time. Just out of curiosity, what is infiniti's body style change intervals?

Good you waited, not suprised they made the change, i could see it coming. Cant wait to make the switch, if 200lb lighter, the car will be a rocket.

I'm slightly skeptical until we see a real posting of the guide... The freshalloy post refered to a PDF, but the person did not post a link to it. That would make me a complete believer.

(Although I really think Infiniti has to do this to revamp sluggish sales, and of course any fuel efficiency improvements would be valuable)

So for someone like me who will be in the market in late June and July, I don't see it worth the wait.

Even at my anticipated mileage, 25k a year, a boost of 2 mpg would mean about 80 less gallons a year. At $4 per gallon, that equals $320 a year. Take that over the six years I plan on having the car and it's $1920 savings.

I would expect the G37 to be more than $1900 more expensive than the current deals on the G35 until next spring what with the initial boost in demand that will probably accompany it.

Besides the few minimal extra changes, am I missing something? Especially for someone like me who does not need to have the latest and greatest.

While it sounds great, I hope this is a rumor because I just took delivery of my '08 G on Wednesday after discounting speculation on the possibility of an '09 G37 sedan in the US. Oh well, I really love my new G and that's all that matters, right?

the V36 G35 sedan is already 200lbs lighter than the G37 coupe, so are they tryin' to say that the G37 sedan is gonna be 400lbs lighter than the coupe??? i don't think so, i'm pretty sure they ment that it's 200lbs lighter than the current G37(coupe).

Mark hit it right on the nose.

The next batch or orders will be taken on the 2nd... that's when I'll have solid details if any.

Official specs for European FX37:

The Infiniti FX37 is powered by the 3.7-litre V6 petrol engine delivering 320PS at 7,000 rpm and a healthy 360Nm of torque (comparable figures for the V8 FX50 are 390PS and 500Nm).
That's 316 HP and 265 LB.FT...

I want this car bad. Cant wait for my 2 yr lease to end, good thing I went with a short lease. I know they allow you to terminate the lease up to 3 months in advance if you are getting another Infiniti, any chance they can make it 6 months. In any case, by the end of nxt yr I will have the G37. They have what I thought I was missing, the park sensors, the headlight cleaners, the 7 speed, the xtra 20+ HP, the new paint and hopefully they bring the revised interior finish from the EX35. 335i what?????

To those taking ownership keep us posted, am sure you are going to f'ng luv it

HMM, Those Pics are of the Euro Version. Not the U.S model! Until I see real Spec Sheets or official word from Infiniti, Then I'll belive there is a real G37 Sedan coming out.

whether this is true or not

if it does come to the us market speced out like that, they are gonna have to raise the price thousands, in this economy, with the us dollar tanking, theres no way they can keep the price anywhere close to what it is now

especially with the engine, trans, paint, interior, and brake upgrades, unless nissan plans to lose money with every g sedan sale
