I don't know what you mean by car consuming oil...are you saying that the car will not have any oil left after a certain mileage? I have not had any problems with the oil in this car, just change it on time and you don't have to worry about it. Just buy the car if you're worried about the monetary issues. Personally, I like buying a brand new car even though it depreciates big time once you sign the papers.

There really isn't much of a difference except the peace of mind you get when buying a NEW car. Just like stereo equipment. You can buy a JL 500/1V2 for $250 used, and close to $400 new. I go with new because of the peace of mind. That's the only thing a new product can give you. It really is the luck of the draw. The loaner car I'm in right now feels SOLID even after I almost blew up the transmission...the other loaners I've had felt like complete crap.

Also, the only thing I don't like about loaners is that I've noticed all the configurations are pretty much the same. The loaners are all G35 base model with a sunroof...well the ones I've had at least. Has anyone had any packages in their loaners? I've never seen a sport package loaner before....

We were just given a loaner car today. '07 G35x. Let me tell you one thing...I want to cry. There is mud everywhere inside the car. There's a tear in one of the seats. The car vibrates while idling. It smells horrible inside. Scratches galore on the centre console and dashboard. Just horrible. And you can tell that people drove this car hard since the gas is beyond touchy and the tires are basically gone. I'd never buy a loaner since I just cannot justify what people have done to the car engine wise, transmission wise, and just overall clean factor. Yuck.

Oil consumption was/is an issue with the first gen G's 03-06.

so the 2007 oil consumption problem is non-existent? I thought i read somewhere on this board that some of the new 2007 G35 might still have that problem. it was a poll of sort taken.

anyways as for mud inside the loaner car..... man all i gotta say is that your dealer sucks. they didn't even take the time to clean the car before they let you have it?

as for package... the one i am looking has the premium package and no nav. it does not have the sport package but it does come with the 18 inch rims.

Personally I wouldn't go for the loaner car either. Before I got my G I got a loaner from the Mercedes dealership and I had it for a month. It was fine until the 3rd day I had it I went to a friends house to pick something up and I wasn't there for more than 3 minutes and the car died on me.

I called the 1800 number they sent a repair guy out he couldnt fix it so they brought me another loaner. This one was even worst, everytime I got past 40mph the wheel would shake really bad, sunroof was broken, car smelled like smoke. So I returned that one the next day. Mind you these were all NEW cars 2005 (the year at that time) with less than 12,000 miles.

Then I finally got a newer car with 500 miles, it was their test drive car. I was pleased with that one but from my experience I wouldn't buy a loaner. or Mercedes again lol

Shouldn't be, I thought I read somewhere that the VQ35HR was 70% reworked from the previous VQ35. I would hope that they addressed the oil consumption issue in the update.

Don't do it! I just read the title and nothing else. The loaner sedans we have here get used and abused! ABUSED being the key word, I don't care how many miles it has, those have been the roughest miles that car will most likely ever see. That's just my opinion though.

Oil consumption wasn't really an "issue" with the non rev-up '03-'04 6MTs. The problems began with the '05 and continued with the '06 RevUp 6MT COUPES. I heard a while back the problem has been attributed to a bad set of rings from the factory. I think it was more or less addressed by '07 Coupes.

'07 HR Sedans should have no problems with oil consumption.

personally i don't think the reason for the loaners being dirty isn't because the dealers "suck"...i mean they're loaners, they are courtesy vehicles...it's not like they HAVE to do it. as for the loaner you're about to buy, it's probably clean because they're trying to sell it. it's not like the dealer sucks just because the people who they're loaned to suck for being filthy

it sounds like you already have your mind made up, go pick up that bad boy

but if rick, who is a respectable rep for riverside infiniti says don't buy it...chances are, i'm gonna listen to this guy...but like i said, it sounds like you have made your mind up and i don't blame you. 10k is a lot of savings which is why i opted out from buying packages except the only one that matters to me which is the sport package...10k is also a lot of money to spend when your practically buying the same car...it's just the peace of mind you get from owning a new car bro, nothing more

dealer should at least clean out a car before they let the next person use it. just like a hotel room. if they let you rent a room that is dirty would you say that they suck?

anyways i am going to treat it just like a use car and inspected just the same. i mean lets say you are buying a use car how do you tell if the person before took good car of it or not right? you have to go and check it out yourself and decide.

Thanks All for your input.

sure, in an ideal world that would be the case...but when things get hectic, i'm sure the last thing on their mind is to clean the courtesy vehicles. i agree with you, it SHOULD be clean...but chances are, they're usually not

and i don't think you can compare a loaner vehicle to a hotel room. you pay for hotel rooms...you can argue with me and say we're paying for the loaners every month from the car payments but it's not the same

i posted this in the wrong thread haha, but here is my opinion.

i got a loaner back in october with 16k miles on it. I now have 31k. I have no regrets. The car runs great, i have had no mechanical issues. In my previous car (s2000) i took it to numerous HPDE days. I can't imagine anyone with a loaner car could drive it harder then I have driven my cars.

If the car looks to be in good condition go for it.

Thanks.

Just putting it out there also... anyone buying a use lease car could actually be getting a loaner because the car is listed as being lease..... so when the dealer said that it is only one owner and it was a return lease.... he is being honest and in reality you could be buying a loaner car. As always....best to check it out and decide for yourself if the car is in good shape or not.

Also some food for thought....... i have notice that over the year i have ruin alot of my cars by modifying it. lowering your car is the worse thing you can do. i remember back in the days when i me and my buddy would drill holes into our honda to slap a turbo charger into it. hahahahahaaaaa still sold that honda for a decent price.....
