Window Tint affect AM/FM Radio?

Quick question, does window tint affect the AM/FM radio reception at all? I am looking at doing 15% rear/side tint but do not want to kill my radio in the process. Thanks.

Oh yeah, car is an 08 G35x S 4 door.

actually...a metallic window film can mess with your AM/FM signal.

i did ceramic on my G. so i can't comment on the G specifically...but i had a metallic formula one film on my Volvo S80 & it really messed with my reception.

Yes window tint can effect your am/fm reception. Some window film carry metallic in them. Like formula one film adds metallic to their window film. But I doubt you want to spend $300+ on tinting your window.

Why not? I did, knowing that the benefits outweighed the isues that can occur using lesser, semi-metalic film. Our G's have a rediculous amount of electronics in them. Why chance the potential issues by saving a few bucks?

YES YES YES.

Window tint will hurt your am/fm reception.

It would've cost me an additional $50 for the special tint that does not affect reception, I should've gotten it.

I noticed the DAY I got my windows tinted (30% all around regular gray). It was the best tint (lifetime warranty) without going with the special tint.

Two stations that came in totally clear before, now both are fuzzy half the time. Night and day difference for those two stations. Before they never went out, now they go out half the time.

My tint is 3M FX-HP tint.

I have 35% metallic on all except windshield with no issues. It has to do with your local transmission tower as well.

I love my ceramic tint!!! it is hot down here in Alabama. with Black leather...tint is a must. if i am not mistaken, ceramic has the highest heat blocking of all the types of films. that is the main reason i went with it. avoiding the electrical issues is a bonus.
