OOH MY GODDD. I shift from 4th as the needle is rapidly climing towards the 100 mark. Its still pulling HARD at ~~95-99, but a proper shift is necessary to avoid the cut off. When it slams into 4th, 105 is there in a jiffy, 110 not too far behind.

I cant believe the STI's are geared soooo low. No wonder they practically stomp anything from a dig.

Im guessing that they have us to about 100, and then we should be gaining quickly, anyone have any experience running vs one? I havent had the pleasure to run with one yet. I do keep getting 330ci's and that just isnt even fun anymore.

In my 2g DSM Spyder GS turboed (2.4L), I have to shift from 3rd to 4th at 85mph. I guess my 4th gear can go upper 100mph.
Ok, now what about 07 G35 auto transmission? Anybody knows the max speed when it shifts?

They stomp cars from a dig with AWD, not because of the gearing.

The gearing makes them a beast until they hit 5th.

Keep in mind 06+ STIs are geared taller.

Also, those quick 0-60 times in the older STIs? They're in 3rd gear at 60MPH.

I'm in the market to get a G within the next year or two and i'm just doing some research

13.9 stock is supposedly what they do right?
soakgame - check out my posts here for my 1/4 times; back in Oct of '07: https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...=181329&page=2.

Here is my timeslips as well:

my timeslips.pdf

First time at the track. It's was oaky. 1st run was the best (13.98). There is also a video of me running against my G37 buddie at the same track that night.

All in all, 1/4 times will range from 13.6 (really, really good time) to 14.1 (on the high end).

thnx for the info.. i think you would have gotten in the high 13's more often if your RT was a little better on those runs

RT's don't mean anything. Your ET doesn't start ticking away until you wheels leave the line. You can sit after the green light for 5 seconds and still get the same ET.

I know I'd like my auto to shift a little quicker... i like the trans, but the delay from one gear to the next is just a tad much, however, it's what I'd expect out of a stock trans.
