G37 Pricing Details?

Hi guys,

Now that Nissan has confirmed the existence of the G37 for the US, any idea when they will release prices? I am looking to buy a new car rite now and am very interested in the G37. I have seen many deals negotiated at 500 over invoice and feel that is a very fair price but I am absolutely lost on how much the price of the car will increase by. I have seen estimates go from under $1k to over $2k and do not know who to believe. If anyone on this forum have REAL information and not just pure speculation, can you please post.

Thanks in advance,
1nickatnite1

Dealer today told me expect upwards of $2K on G37 Sedan, not sure I fully believed him, but I do belive it will be higher and considering the deals on G35 right now and last few months the real difference will easily be that or more.

You could probably get a great deal on the 2008 G35 sedan if you could live with the less horse power....

Deals right now are awesome, about $4400 off MSRP and then 0.9% for 60 months, I am so close to pulling the trigger.

There are EXCELLENT deals on the G35 now and anyone thinking about it should go for it. I wanted to wait, I swear I did, but these new incentives got me to pull the trigger. I figured I doubt I would be able to tell the difference between 306 and 328, the only thing I was looking forward to was the 7 speed...

I wouldn't be surprised to see a substantial increase in price simply to offset the difference in prices between the coupe and the sedan. Previously they were able to justify the increase in prices between the two based on the coupe having the new engine and other upgrades like the brakes. Now that the sedan will contain the same hardware, that 4k price difference isn't going to cut it.

Also the package prices on the coupe are different. IIRC the premium package containing the same goodies on both the sedan and coupe are 800 dollars difference between the 2.

I'd predict a 2-3 grand increase in MSRP across the board for the sedan. If it's less, well....the sedan will be one outstanding deal. And unfortunately, the coupe isn't going to do well.

I was thinking (and hoping) for not a big jump in MSRP. Infiniti is not giving you the choice to drive a lesser engine. They're making EVERYONE drive a 330hp car.

Yeah but look what happened with the coupe. The price was increased 2 grand with the introduction of the G37...and it was a required increase if you wanted the coupe.

the 1st gen G35 sedan and G35 coupe had a price differential of ~2k between the two.

Now the coupe switched to a G37 and jumped up 2 grand making the difference ~3.5k between the 2nd gen G35 sedan and coupe. That ~3.5k could be justified with the addition of the increased HP, larger brakes, along with all the other coupe benefits.

Now that the sedan is going the way of the G37, that 2 grand increase would almost be expected, putting the pricing strategy back in the historical norm in a comparable sedan vs. coupe for infiniti.

07 G35 coupe sport 6MT - 33,800
08 G37 coupe sport 6MT - 35,800

08 G35 sedan sport 6MT - 32,650
09 G37 sedan sport 6MT - 34,650?

According to my insider at Nissan, the pricing increase will range from $450 to $1,850 over the current G35 sedan offering. I don't have much reason to doubt as this is the same guy that told me about the VQHR 1.5 years before it debuted and the VQ37 G37 over two years before it's release and everyone told me I was full of crap and that the G would never become the G37.

Dave,

Meaning...$450 to $1850 depending on model?...or..is that the range that he expects the average incrase to be?

Mike S.

Ps...does that make sense what I'm asking?

I would have to believe the price difference will be around 600-800 tops. The reason I'm saying this, and of course this is just my opinion, is that look at the car market right now. The luxury and near-luxury segment is really hurting due to the economy and fuel mileage. They're dropping in a 7-spd auto hoping that will help a little but those of us that understand car dynamics know that adding two taller gears will do nothing more than bump Highway MPGs 1 maybe 2 which won't make the buyer go "oh look it's now fuel efficient". If they bump the price more than $1K their sales will really hurt because everyone (including myself) who's on the fence right now ready to buy will snap up the remaining 08s. People looking to buy the G aren't going to pay $2K more for bigger breaks, uglier wheels, 22 more hp and a few more ft/lbs of torque (oh yeah and dial heated seat switches...oohhh who cares...and the re-designed side mirrors).

I have to tell you all that I recently test drove a 2009 Maxima fully loaded with prem/tech pacakges and I was impressed. I just can't understand how the Maxima gets signal mirrors, cooled driver seat, double-pane sunroof, power rear-sunshade etc. etc. and the G doesn't?? Can somebody explain that? In the power department, it boasts 290hp and 261 ft/lb of torque which is only 16 less hp than the current G and 7 less ft/lb of torque less than the current G. The price is a little less and it only takes regular gas vs. premium and gets 19/26 vs. 17/24 in the MPG department. I know it's front wheel vs. rear wheel but the sport package also offers 19in wheels which you can't even get on the G...it comes standard with 18s. Why would Nissan/Infiniti do that?? To me they undercut the G...anyone else feel this way??
