OFFICIAL: Tanabe Medalion Touring for 07+ G35 Sedan!
But, Csquared is right, now that I've got about 150 miles on the new exhaust it's starting to "open up" a bit, so it is a little bit louder than when I first installed it... I just hope that it doesn't get too much louder when I install the Berks. I LOVE how it sounds exactly the way it is right now... Nice and deep & throaty!!WooHooo.. Awesome deal. You gonna install it right away? Took less than 45 minutes... start to finish. It is such an easy install that I actually did mine while I was taking lunch last Friday. LOL
Make sure to let us all know what you think once you get it installed.
Hey guys here is what I found out about my Tips, one was higher than the other one, I have no idea how Adrian was able to bend his hangers, they are really sturdy I guess he's one hell of a strong guy hahah. However I got my tips to basically sit at the same height now, through some adjusting and they are at the center of their respected bumper cut outs. however, when you're standing close to the car and look at it it looks like they are not centered, it's because of the Polished cans behind them. The inner part of the car is black from the reflection and so you only see the outer part which is shiny silver making is seem like one side of the muffler is blocked by the bumper, if you get down to ground level and look at them straight on they are centered.
One last thing, one of my pipes is still sitting further in than the other one. By around half a centimeter, only us mod crazy detailed obsessed people will notice it. From me fooling around under the car I'm guessing it's my stock tubing that is the problem.
Thanks guys for the help!!

Seriously, though... I was able to bend the hanger pins usng the palm of my hand with th exhaust still on the car and was able to get both of the mufflers leveled perfectly. I didn't have to do any adjustment from side-to-side, as they were already centered, but just like you, once of my tips sits out about 1 cm farther than the other... There's not much you can do about that, though, without bending the stock piping a little... I'm not too worried about it, though... you have to look VERY closely from each side to even notice. I was driving around more, I have around 130 miles on the Tanabe's, I think the sound has gotten better than when i first installed them. however, I am getting a weird rattling sound or something that is tainting the exhaust note. after a lot of thinking I'm guessing it could also possibly be the Stock resonators not being able to deal with the extra flow. I guess I'll wait until Adrian gets his custom midpipe done and see how his exhausts sounds. I went to ask and For me to get a custom mid it would cost around 400 bucks, but with aluminum piping does that sound decent?
As for the mid-pipe / x-pipe... I'm sure the piping your referring too is actually aluminized steel, not aluminum. This is better for corrosion resistance than just bare steel piping, but isn't as good as going with SST.. but, ,of course, you'll pay for SST. Either way you go, I don't think the material will affect the exhust sound at all... just how long it will last.
No it's not that loud, My GF didn't really notice while i was driving in D even when i was on the freeway, but when i gunned it she was like, wow, sounds like a race car lol. She was happy about it.
Thanks for the replies 2g, i managed to get the tips to sit level now, haha it was tough but got it in the end. I'm thinking about if i should do the whole exhaust or just the Resonators at the moment.

If your gonna cut into the exhaust to replace the resonators, then you mine as well have a complete custom mid-pipe done, so you can keep your stock piece intact.... never know when you might need it.
I'm actually thinking of buying some mandrel bent pieces, a couple of resonators and welding up my own... it all depends on how much free time I have over the nxt few weeks... which it looks like is virtually none right now. LOL

Yeah, I know But I don't want to do up my whole exhaust because I have no where to put it I'm still in school hahaha, I already have my stock intakes stock cats and stock mufflers lying around. Dude I should just drive over and have you weld up my exhaust!
I was thinking just resonators so that if anything happens i can just cut them back off and reweld the stock ones back on?

Hehe.. Thanks, man. I was actually gonna go the magnaflow route until I heard it and then I decided it was way too loud for my tastes This Tanabe is just perfect... so much so, that my wife hasn't ever realized I changed the exhaust yet.
