Sounds better from the outside! The rattle sounds like rasp, I think from the Hfc, I hope it just goes away once my Hfcs break in, I think it's just the air resonating through it?

Haha.. Yeah, me too. I have no tollerance for the cold anymore... I was even a little chilly today and it was 70°F. LOL

let me ask you this, is this exhaust subtle enough where I can still drive clients around and maintain the professional atmosphere? sucks that i have to ask these things now in my life...

I was worried about the same thing as you, since I regularly drive customers around in my car, and I can tell you that you will have n problem putting clients in your car with this exhaust. It is so mind that my wife hasn't even realized I've changed anything on the car yet and she's driven it several times since I installed the Tanabe's. Mine's not nearly as loud as Clement's (Csquared), though, mainly because he has his Berks installed already and I don't... Also, I don't have that resonance that Clement has, which may also be due to his Berk's.

Here are some before and after sounds clips of th Tanabe Medalion exhuast on my car with the stock cats.

I'm not sure if you can do it or not using youtube, Clement... I download mine to Photobucket and it automatically creates an IMG file for the videos for message boards, just like with pics.

Not sure if i'm gonna do it yet or if it'll even work.
Hey Clement... I think that any aftermarket resonatos you use whould probably be less efficient at eliminating that raspiness (is that even a word? LOL) that you are hearing than the stocks are... unles, of course, it is the stok resonators or their heat shields causing th noise. Those stock resonators are probably betting at toning down the exhaust noise then any aftermarket resonators... What you will gain from aftermarket resonators is mot likely better flow, so more power, but this also typically comes at the expense of more noise. Just my $.02.

just finished installing the exhaust an hour ago!
everything seems to be centered, but its dark outside so i can't be too sure. i will take pics of it soon.

my initial impression:

cold start sounds great, kinda reminds me of the 03-04 coupe's
idle is quiet
when blipping the throttle it sounds sportier and definitely tastefully louder at higher revs. (unloaded of course)

i will give my impression on in-cabin sound tomorrow after driving to work

Awesome, man... I love the sounds on cold start-up and idle too... Let us know what you think after you drive it a bit. I've found that the extra exhaust note is hardly noticeable in the cabin with the windows up, especially when just cruising, but when you step on it with the windows down that sweet sound of the K&N's and Tanabe's working in unison is music to my ears.

OK so I finished the exhaust a couple hours ago

Impressions so far:

1- VERY quiet (even a bit too quiet really, I was used to my HKS rear section on my '05 Sedan) what can I do thats bolt on and relatively cheap to "kick it up a notch" and not HFCs
2- Looks good, BUT Im having the issue where one sits higher than the other....and thats kinda pissin me off, but I'll deal with that another day
3- Install was STUPID EASY!

Overall Im pretty happy :/

Nice glad you guys like it, seems like everyone is having the problem of 1 sitting higher than the other side. Anyways I have a drive off video and drive by video kinda on page 12 if anyone wants to hear.

just noticed that my driver side muffler sits a little lower than the other one, i will try and fix that this afternoon.

driving impression (in-cabin w/windows up):

cruising and light acceleration, there isn't a noticeable increase in sound.
under moderate to hard acceleration, it sounds awesome. sportier but not obnoxiously loud.

this is definitely what I was looking for in an exhaust quiet under normal conditions and sportier at wot and moderate to hard acceleration. this exhaust definitely amplifies the VQ exhaust tastefully. no need to add HFC, imho. Also, the tip design looks great.

The head shields on the y pipe? Where else do we have heat shields? I'm guessing it's possibly those because I can feel rattling sometimes.
