OFFICIAL: Tanabe Medalion Touring for 07+ G35 Sedan!
Yeah... I was thinking maybe it's the heat shields on the stock y-pipe / resonators... I used to get the same sound on my Porsche and it was actually the heat shield on the stock cat... once I ripped off the heat shield, the noise went away.
Glad to hear everyon else is happy with their exhausts. Seems we all have the same issue with the tip on the driver's side sitting a little bit lower than the other tip. It's an easy fix, though, just bend the hanger pin on the rear of that muffler slightly, so it will sit a little bit higher. I bent mine a little at a time, so I made sure not to over bend it. The other option would be to add a washer or two under the rear hanger bracket on th passenger's side, so that side will sit a little lower. I imagine either way you should be able to get them leveled out pretty easily. I know I did.

Call Rick @ Riverside Infiniti @ 1-800-919-8130 or e-mail him at reudave@riversideinfiniti.com, and tell him Adrian sent you. He just bought a group of these from Tanabe on a package deal, so he by far has the best price on these right now... at least until they are gone. He's also has the Tanabe NF210 lowering springs for cheap right now. You can also mention that you are a member of this forum, as they are a forum sponsor here.

Good thread.
Two comments:
1) Tanabe is Japanese so it's pronounced: Tah-Nah-Bay not Tah-Nah-Bee. It would need to be spelled Tanabi for it to be Tah-Nah-Bee.
Someone asked that earlier and I didn't see a reply.
2) To the guy who is off-center. I noticed you have a G35X. G35X has different suspension due to AWD. There may be slight differences to the exhaust system to clear any suspension differences. I'm not sure about this, but yours are WAYYYY off center compared to the other guy with the regular G35.
I tried to read all posts so maybe I missed another explanation. I don't think bending hangers is going to move it to the degree you need it to be moved.
I may just have to get in on this set. I like the sound, but in all honesty, I prefer the way the stock mufflers look and fit, but that's a testament to how cool the stock mufflers look. I think only the Stillen looks better, but these aren't so bad.

Thanks for the reply about how you say it, by they way they are not off center it's just in the pic and also when you look at it because of the way the cans are polished, so you can see the outer sides as they reflect light but the side on the inside looks black because its in the shadow so it looks off center, if you get level you will see it's in the center also if you paint the cans they will look center too.
I'm seriously considering this set. Thread is 14 pages and I haven't read it all - anyone have power comparisons with this vs. Fast Intentions? Also what about Tanabe+Long Tube Injen or Stillen Gen 3 intake power differences?
