I got my overlays today =]

I got everything I ordered from BlueBatMobile today.

I'm in a supper happy mood.

My order was pretty big but he shipped it fast.
1- Black Roof Overlay for 07-08 w/ MoonRoof(SunRoof)
1- Black Rear Valence Overlay
1- g35stgtr2-07 - GTR Style TailLight 2

I'm getting the roof and valance installed Thursday.

But I need the tails installed, Anyone know who can do it? (Maybe even Sunday, like tomorrow? =] )

^ Wish I could believe that, everyone I've heard from has told me its a PITB. I've had mine for a month now and still looking for a decent place to fit them , that being said let us know how things go, any comments on what problems you've faced would be appreciated.

I've installed one tail before. It came out nice but it sucked to install.
After I went to install the other, I found my order was wrong.

Bat took great care of me and sent the right stuff, but I removed the one I did while waiting for the new stuff to arrive.

I've been sitting on the new stuff for 2 weeks now. I know I can do it, but I don't want to!

Cmon guys!!! IF I COULD DO IT, you guys can do it!!!

it just takes time and effort.. but its certainly do-able.... i would have to say, its not easy, but it can be done!!!

Get someone to help you while your installing. Have someone hair dryer while your doing the molding/sticking.

I have to do these things myself. My friends are not into their cars like I am and the wife can't (or won't) help me at all.
I found that I needed three hands and only having two, I suffered the consequences.
On the one tail I applied, I found the relief cut to be in a place different than where I would have liked.
I applied the flat section toward the trunk first so I could lock the overlay in place... allowing the tail lights to align into the pre-cut holes.
This caused me to heat and stretch the round corners and I ended with too much excess material. I had to cut some off and align another relief cut on that end of the overlay.

Wes, what method did you use to lock the overlay in place?
Did you use the same process?

yes, similar process. But what I found helpful was doing the north half of the tail lights before the south half. I cut off excess parts as well. Either it was cut or pushed in between body and the tail lights.

You dont need anyone who cares for cars... you just need a friend =) im sure you can get someone to do that for ya! Just tell them to point and shoot at a place where u want heated and you can do the rest

But mind u... if I had to do it again.. I would be hesitant. Even though I know exactly how to do it.. I find the task very annoying to do. But I think the benefits outweight the cons heavily... When its done, its done! And your car looks THAT much nicer =) cheers!

What pics do you want?
Do you want pics of our overlays not installed?

*Edit*
I just tried uploading a few pics of the one tail I installed... FAIL!

Here's a few pics of the one overlay I had installed.
Nothing sucks more than the hour of pure hell installing this thing than having to remove it soon after.

The guy that did my tint said he'd install these for me but wouldn't guarantee
me perfect results having only done full headlight films before (no cut-outs)
One thing he never mentioned is what it'll cost me.

Depending on my mood and the weather next weekend, I may give these another whirl on my own.
I wonder if the headlights will be easier or harder than the tails.

On to the pics... (note, they're still dirty from the install process)
