Did I get a good deal?

Hi Everybody,

I just purchased a brand new 2008 Infiniti G35xS that has Navigation, Sport, and Premium package. I got it in Ivory Pearl with Stone interior. I'm really glad I got this car and it's a joy to drive. However, I cant stop thinking if I got a good deal or not so I'd like to ask the board. I got this car for $37,200 plus tax, title, registration, etc. I was given a $1000 rebate as well as got .9% financing. I purchased this car in Illinois. Any thoughts will be very appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Invoice is $37,552
If you paid $37,200 before the rebate, that's a pretty good deal.
If you paid $37,200 after the rebate was applied, you're about average.

Either way, the bottom line is... "Are you happy"?

Some of us paid WAY more than that, being the "gotta be the first to have it" type back in 07.
I know I paid much more and ya know what? I don't care.
My G still causes me to smile every single day.

Congrats on the new ride and welcome to the family.
Now post some pics!

Hi AesonVirus, thanks for the reply! I got it for $37200 after the rebate so yeah I felt it was a good deal but not great. Overall tho I am very happy I bought this car. I was initially going to buy the MB C300 but one drive in this car changed my mind. I'm definitely glad to be part of the family!

Well, I think most of us here will agree, you made the right choice.
I remember my first test drive. There was no turning back after that.

BTW, you sig says "Fully Loaded".
If you have the Tech Pack and didn't mention it above, then that's a great price you paid. I paid a hair under 40K for mine back in 07, when the Sport pack wasn't available on the X model.

Don't let it eat at you. You got the car and the deal is done. You'll always second guess yourself after the fact and you may not always like the answer you find. I go in and negotiate until I have a good gut feeling and after the paperwork is signed, there's no sense in looking back on it. Someone will ALWAYS have gotten a better deal. Just enjoy the car and be satisfied with getting exactly what you wanted.

+1

You will always have someone who gets a better deal, and a lot of people who paid more. Nothing is worse than having a deal walk out from under you because you were trying to save an extra $500 or so.

You save $1K? In the scheme of things if you spend 10 more hours or so finding the deal, etc., it is not really worth much considering time, headaches etc. You save $2K or more? Well then that starts making a difference

the thing my parents taught me over their experiance is that you want the lowest residual you can possibly get but also having the lowest payment you can get or feel comfortable paying for. like the earlier members said, "ARE YOU HAPPY??" that's all that matters in this situation, not everybody will get the same pricing or same monthly payments around the US so for you this sounds right. I got 32,500 for my G35S (Non-Premium or Navi or Rear Backup Camera). I didn't need all the whistles and bells because im only 19, maybe if i was in my mid-twenty's yeah but for now IM happy.

What dealer did you end up going with? I ended up buying at Infiniti of Lisle even though I live in Mundelein b/c they were above board and offered me the car at $36 over invoice.

I also took advantage of the $1000 rebate (that was applied after tax, so it didn't necessarily get it for $964 under invoice, but close enough).

Have fun in the 'G'!!

Hey Ground Beef, I ended up going to Infiniti of Hoffman Estates even though Lisle is closer to me as they had the exact car I wanted. What options did you get in your car? Did you also get the .9% financing? I ended up getting mine for only $350 below invoice after the rebate.

I got the G35 Journey Sport/Prem with Cargo net in Platinum Graphite with Graphite interior. Here are the details of my deal:

So, to answer your question, yes, I did take the 0.9% for 60mos.

Additionally, I just received my winter wheel package yesterday from tire rack...paid almost exactly $1000 for Blizzaks mounted on 17" MSW cheapie rims....I figured it was cheaper getting a winter setup than buying the AWD option.

The guy I was dealing with at MotorWerks seemed kind of smarmy so I ended up not dealing with him and went with Lisle.

Wow man you pretty much got a great deal...$1000 below invoice after the rebate. Looks like you put that money to good use! I wish I would have tried at Lisle as well but the exact car was at Hoffman Estates and it seemed like a good deal at the time ($350 below invoice after rebate). Oh well I'm still happy with it!
