Anyone go from a coupe -> 07+ sedan?

I'm in the market for a G, but I can't quite make up my mind between a 05 G35 coupe and an 07 G35 sedan. I know its a tough comparison, but for roughly the same price point, I can swing for either car.

Anyone go from a newer 1st gen coupe to an 07+ sedan? How does owning and driving both regularly feel & differ?

Thanks

The second gen sedan is deff. alot more luxurious compared to the 1st gen coupe. Its a matter of prefence though. We have 2 coupes and a sedan and its nice to switch it up and drive a different car at differnt times.

if you' like the sexy "coupe look" then not much that you can do but otherwise the sedan is better in everywhere engine, interior, technology and exterior(for each their own)! However, a friend of mine just got the 05 coupe 2 days back over the sedan only because he wanted a coupe and the 37 is out of budget.

So think this out, id say drive both cars, you WILL feel the difference as i did when i drove his all day yesterdaysedan for me ), however the coupe exhaust sound is to die for!

Unfortunately, that's the situation that I'm in as well. I've driven the 07 G35 sedan Journey edition and it was an extremely comfortable, luxurious ride. I plan on keeping this car for the next ~4 years or so, so I think I'm leaning towards the 07 G35 sedan.

But maybe I'll change that decision once I get in and test drive a coupe

Kind of apples and oranges in terms of comparison because I feel like they are such different cars in so many different ways. I went from a 2005 6MT Coupe to a 2008 G35 Journey Sport Sedan Auto.

Here are the reasons I went sedan:

1. Have a child that will turn 2 at the end of November and need to be able to transport her in more than one vehicle. Currently negotiating having kid number two.
2. It just got too expensive changing shoes on her every 20k miles. Not sure what to expect with the Sport Model sedan though.
3. Winters were HARSH in the coupe, albeit, I did not get a set of snow tires/rims for her like I did the Sedan.
4. Did not like the 6MT clutch in the 2005.
5. Tire feathering a HUGE pain in the A$$.
6. Time to grow up, this is my 'grown up' car

Reasons I wish I'd have gotten another coupe:

1. FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN
2. FAST FAST FAST FAST FAST
3. FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN
4. Did I mention this car was fun?

That's my 2 cents.

Faster, unless pretty much every comparo I've seen is wrong.

Just curious, how are you going to pay the same price for an '05 coupe vs. an '07 sedan?

Anyway, I drove both, and liked the handling of the coupe better, but liked the engine and interior of the sedan better. So, sedan it was.

I went from a 05 coupe to a 08 sedan. I don't miss my coupe at all except the exhaust tone, everything feels outdated compared to the 08 sedan.

I use to own an '06 coupe and I purchased an '08 sedan a little less than a year ago.

IMHO my coupe looked nicer, but then again, most coupes look better than their 4 door counterpart.

However, in every other category I think my sedan is better/nicer. It is definately faster, dash/gauges nicer, seats better, stereo sounds better, etc.

The only thing I miss is the coupe's exhaust note, but as mentioned above that can be quickly remedied with a visit to FI.

My vote is the sedan, you won't regret it.

I agree, the sedan is faster, but the coupe with the 6MT was more fun to drive...turn off the VDC, throw it into 1st and spin the rears, waiting for the 19's to grip before you take off!!! That was fun.

So, for those of you with the FI Exhaust on the 08, does it sound just as deep and mean as the 05 Coupe? I definitely miss that PERFECT exhaust tone.

I went from an 06 6MT Coupe to an 08 sedan. To me, the coupe tried to be luxury and sport and fell short in both areas. Now, the new 37 coupe may do a bit better in the luxury department. I found the new sedan to be a good mix of power and luxury. Sure, it lacks the sport element to any great degree but I still like it. To solve the sport issue, we picked up an S2000 as a spare car.
