Actually, they are selling the car; in this case to Infiniti Financial Services. The dealer doesn't retain ownership of the car. IFS owns the car and is on the title.

I copied this from autoleasinglibrary.com:

Under the capitalized cost method of taxation, the lessee pays tax on the capitalized cost of the vehicle. In cap cost states the total tax is often due at the commencement of the lease, meaning the lessor must pay it and either collect it from you up front or roll it into your lease. This method of taxation is required in a handful of states including, Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Montana, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Texas. Each state has its own variations on what is included in the purchase price, and at least one state (Kentucky) defines gross purchase price for tax purposes as 90% of the sticker price.
In my case, I had the tax rolled into the lease.

0.9%

Don't forget about the 0.9 they are offering right now...its what pushed me over the edge.

So you can't get the $3k factory to dealer rebate if you use any sort of IFS financing (I know you can't get the .9%, but I figured you'd be able to get the lease "deal").

That's correct. But the lease money factor and residual from IFS is very attractive this month, especially for 36 months on an '08 G35X.

I did, however, receive a separate $1,000 manufacturer to customer rebate that is going on right now. That was used to reduce the selling price of the car. I believe that particular rebate is also for the entire month of October, but I might be mistaken.

So, in a nutshell, the starting price from my dealer, on which the lease is based, was invoice (no $3,000 incentive). The separate $1,000 rebate was used to reduce the selling price by that amount, plus my salesman gave me an additional $500 off when nudged. So the lease was based on $1,500 under invoice in my case.

I hope this makes sense.

+1 on the mileage..........I got 12k miles per yr on my lease thinking that it would be plenty. As it stands, I use that up just going to work and doing a couple around town errands during the week. So...on the weekend the G sits and we are stuck in the Rav4!
Next time I'll buy or get alot more miles on my lease deal!

Not to hijack this thread but I have a lease question myself.

I have never leased before but work is willing to lease me a vehicle (within reason) and I was just wondering what I could expect as a monthly payment on a 2008 G35x, premium, wood, sirius, 15K, for 36 months and no money down? I am flexible on color and I know my local dealership (located in a relatively small market) has about 10 of these sitting on the lot.

Could I expect to get it under $400 a month or is that just inreasonable.

Thanks...your help is much appreciated.

This is an email response I received from a local dealer. Apparently I was way off on expecting to get a lease close to $400. Is this more of what I should expect?

[BThanks for the quick response back. Heres what I have in stock.. All of these vehicles are equipped with XM radio and I think there is an option with XM once you get the vehicle to get “The Best of Sirius”: but I have never done this, just heard about it thru the grapevine. Also I would have to wrap up this deal by this afternoon if you are going to take advantage of it…

Blue Slate Exterior, Black Interior (2 of these) (one of them doesn’t have splash guards)

Platinum Graphite Exterior, Black Interior

Liquid Platinum Exterior, Black Interior

The deal right now (which I will give you two scenerios) which the latter one saves you about 500 bucks by the way, because you get a tax advantage this way…

Lease G35X with Premium Package and Wood Package

1000 DOD for 39 months equals 575 per month with 12K per year (15 K is about 13 dollars more per month)

4000 DOD , same terms equals = 475 per month…

22850 Total Cost on Option One

22050 Total on Option Two… Just works better J

I hope to hear back from you soon as I leave the office at 3 PM today and wont be returning till Saturday at 9AM.

YES $400 is doable

Biz,

I originally was quoted around $549 / month for 39 month lease on a G w/ prem / nav, 12k miles. I held off for 2 months and got what I think is a screaming deal. Athough, I think there are others that may have done a bit better, but I am thrilled with my deal.

check my original post and see the details. In this market, you should be able to get a loaded G for around $400 / month.

The way I got my deal was checked online for specials at every dealership within 6 hour drive of me. I found a dealership in Atlanta that was advertising 08 G w/ prem / nav, 39mo/10k/$990 down for $379 +tax. I just printed the deal off the internet, brought it to my local dealership, and they matched it.

Also note that many dealerships hours away were willing to deal and work out convenient delivery. Don't settle for your local Infiniti dealer. When they know you will drive a few hours for a better deal, they will work with you.

The deal that I see online right now is:

08 G w/ Premium
MSRP $35725
10k / year
$2k down

PAYMENT: $319 + tax

If you don't put the $2k down, your payment should go to around $385.

Send me a PM if you want the website for this deal.

Good luck.
