After reviewing the Infiniti website, it appears you cannot sport package on the G37X. Which means no larger brakes, sport suspension, or sport seats. Is this only for RWD models? Anybody know why?

I hope this is not the case. I think an AWD with all the options of the sport model make this car nearly perfect. I need to drive this car year round and I live in Chicago. I would prefer AWD.

I am not sure where you looked but I just went on the Infiniti website and confirmed that you can get the sports package on the G37X

You can get the sport package on AWD, but its just cosmetic. No sport suspension, brakes, or special diff. Just wheels, steering wheel, and bumper.

Could you ever get those on the X sedan though? I didn't think the 08 offered them. But I could be wrong.

Nope, which is a shame because it would handle even better, with the added AWD.

It would be great if it was offered in a 6MT as well. I really wanted that but I guess i will just have to get another car for the weekend.

I bet they might soon, especially because of the TL SH-AWD 6mt

It seems there are still some open questions on what does and does not come with the sport pkg. on the x model. I know some of our Canadian bretheren have already taken delivery on G37xS sedans. Perhaps they could help clarify. Here's what I know for sure.

Sport pkg. items included on the AWD model:
Sport 18' wheels: Yes, but they aren't staggered and come with all-season not summer tires
Sport Seats: ??? Probably but I'm not sure
Limited Slip Diff: ??? Don't think so but not sure
Quicker Steering Ratio: ??? I have no idea
Bigger Brakes: No
Sport Suspension: ??? Don't think so but not sure
Sport Bumper: Yes
Sport steering wheel and paddle shifters: Yes

You have to get the Akebono's aftermarket. That's what I'm doing and a number of people on this forum have already done.

Regarding the suspension, the xS only have the regular ones. You will, however, be able to get the sport seats.

If I go with this car (over a 335i), it looks like I'll just have to get the RWD with sport package and purchase some winter wheels and tires.

I see no reason get AWD on what Infiniti markets as a "sports sedan" if you cannot get all the sport options. That does not make any sense. It's really just an AWD sedan then.

Well to be fair, it's still a mid-sized sedan with 328hp that runs the 1/4mi in the 13's and pulls over 0.9 on the skid pad with some decent tires.

I also wish they made a 6MT AWD Sport model. It would be like an luxury version of the WRX I loved so much. But it's not like the G37x without all the "sport" goodies is likely to be confused with a Camry.

You are right. I was too harsh. I just don’t understand why Infiniti cannot offer the sport items on the AWD. Does the sport suspension lower the ride height? If so, maybe that screws up the geometry of the AWD. But why can’t the sport brakes be mounted on the AWD?

Not too sure if the sport suspension lowers the ride height, but I know for sure that you can bolt on the Akebono BBK's on a X w/o any problems. You just have to get rims that will clear the breaks in which I believe the minimum is 18's.
