Best Intake System...Once and for all...need help!

All right guys, I've saved up a little money to buy myself an early Christmas gift - an intake system for my 07 G35S 5AT. Now, I don't like to throw away my money and I also hate to buy a product that I later realize isn't the best or is outdated, etc. Thus, for once and for all I would like all those various threads about great intakes and their specific benefits and how much people love them to be condensed neatly into one, understandable, unbiased thread. I just want to finally understand which one is best and why without having to buy all the models and testing them out myself, and I know many people on this site have already added an intake as one of their first mods. Thus, can all those people with Injen CAI, JWT Popchargers, Stillen Long tube, K&N drop ins, Fujita, or any other model I don't know about please stand up and explain to me with proof why theirs is the best, not just useless chants about how __ sucks and their ___ is the best because they have it. I would really appreciate it, thanks!

PS - I know alot of people out there say stock is the best, but is that because they have tried other things and failed or are just ignorant? It might really be true, but again I'm looking for real reasons. And also, would most people agree that the aftermarket intakes might not be better by themselves, but if you were to get a reflash then they would be better than stock?

Intakes are mostly preference.

Go with the one you like, as the gains (or losses) are all fairly similar.

:waiting for this thread to go down like any other intake thread:

What Mike said...

And FYI, when modding a car that's only been out for two years, you can pretty much bet on getting parts that either "aren't the best or are outdated" as you put it. Something better is always around the corner. Take the stillen gen 1-3 intakes for the G37 for an example.

Since mine isn't listed I'll vote here. I bought the K&N Typhoon intake. I'm happy with it so far, and with what I paid for it, it won't sting so bad when I upgrade to the next "latest and greatest" intake .

To me it looks like the K&N Typhoon is the best performing one so far (and one of the cheaper ones too).
Although the best way to judge in my opinion is to install each intake on a single car and reflash the ECU after each intake install to see which is best. Time and money consuming? Yes, but it would end the arguments over which is best.

So maybe there should be a poll to ask which intake sounds the best and not the gains like everyone else. But ofcourse then that would be opinionated.

K&N Typhoon

I'm in same boat, shopping for intakes as a early Christmas gift to myself. I'm probably going to get the K&N Typhoon intakes, which seems to be missing from your poll. I think your doing good if you don't lose HP and torque from aftermarket intakes. As far as I can tell it mostly for bling and sound.
