mods in general

Hey guys not sure if this thread has ever been started but im kinda curious... How many of you guys install your own mods as far as suspension, lighting, intakes, exhausts, custom mods anything etc. for your sedan. Do a lot of you guys take it to a professional to get your mods installed or do most of you know how to do the mods yourself?

Some mods like intakes, sway bars, tie bars, etc... are easy enough to install that just about anyone can do the install themselves, while some other parts like high flow cats or cat back exhausts, suspensions, etc... may require a bit more experience wrenching along with more tools. Realistically, a lot of installs seem harder than they really are, while some simpler installs like the cats require a bit more finesse to get certain bolts out from odd spaces. And electronics are fairly easy to do as long as you know what is what. But if you're not too experienced with working on cars but want to give it a shot, just have a friend who knows what he's doing around to help, just in case.

i think part of it also depends on how mechanically inclined one is..you also have to remember that some things dont work out/fit as the manufacturer says and kind of have use your noodle when running into those situations...tonite me and my dad just finished putting on my CF trunk lid...and man what a b_tch...definately didnt fit the way the factory trunk did..

Trial and error is always the best way of learning

9 times out of 10 the job seems much harder than it is
