Dash Ticking Rattle 3000 RPM
This started today. It's a loud ticking coming from under the drivers side dash somewhere. Has nothing to do with rough roads, smooth roads. Has everything to do when I hit about 3000 RPM. I get a very audible clicking/ticking noise. It gets louder as I go up the RPM scale.. As soon as I drop it below 3000, goes away completely. Doesn't matter if it's on the freeway or cruising at 15 mph in first.. same noise. Anyone else? Thankfully it's consistent so I'll take it in, but wondered if anyone else had this.

There's a TSB for this problem. Here's a link to a site that contains the pdf file.

Uggg my car did this months ago for a few hours and it dissapeared until last weekend. All weekend it drove me crazy, booked an appointment to drop off my car and wouldnt you know it the day before I take it in it stops again.
The TSB describes my symptoms to the T, yet my dealership won't do anything. I tried to get them to look at the TSB, I printed it out, and my service advisor just kind of shrugged it off and said that their techs have to diagnose the issue.
When the problem occurs again, I'm sure the dealership won't like me just walking in w/o an appointment.
I love dealerships, always nice as they can be when they are selling it to you.

You don't even need to search for this particular problem.
One should know that you should always look into FAQs before searching, and if you can't find it there, then you search. If you can't find anything even after searching, then you post for question.

I remember when I had a loaner 07 sedan with this issue, it was horribly loud and annoying in the loaner. Granted I'm sure there was more than simply that wrong with it. The car had a CEL on for cylinder 2 misfire (with 4xx miles on the car), bad alignment, and im pretty sure someone took out some resonators or gutted the rear mufflers because this bitch was horribly loud. It was definatly fun to drive around though. 500 miles of regular gas later the 07 limped back to the dealership so I could go pick up my 03, which by then felt like an upgrade.
Try a different dealership. I have had my share of issues, both good and bad, and very bad, with my local dealership (Kings Infiniti), however Atlantic Infiniti (before it became Legacy Infiniti) helped me out always, as did Infiniti of Massapequa and Garden City Nissan. Ultimately it comes down to knowing your service advisor I think, because at the base of it all, all they really are is a salesman. They're only job is to make money, and sell products/services.
lol they're replying to the OP, self-centered much?
