found a rare 09 base sedan with sport pkg only

according to infiniti website, sport package requires premium.

but no. i saw this base (or maybe journey?) model sedan blue slate/black with sport pkg only. no nav, no sunroof, no nothing else. $37xxx msrp

i almost wanted to buy it because i hate sunroofs. but i wanted to wait to see what the 2010 looks like.

this base+sport has been sitting on the lot for a looong time.
must have been a custom order.

i bet i could've negotiated a good chunk below invoice (before incentive) to get it off the lot.

I got a Journey with Sport, no other packages. I don't believe you can get a base with sport (but may be wrong).

You should get it. I would never buy the first year of any production car, but that's just me.

I bet it's quite a bit lighter than any sport out there without all the nav/sunroof/audio junk. Would be a good car to track on the weekends if that's what you're into

I'm not a big fan of sunroofs either to be honest. I got to side with Q8y_drifter on this one if your into tracking would make a great car for it. That stuff really piles on the weight. If you are thinking about holding off for the 2010 I personally would wait, you don't want to be kicking yourself in the head later wishing you had one.

Then again if you are thinking about cost wise and you are able to take a bit off the top and those extra's don't mean anything to you it might be worth looking into.

i went from an 03.5 sedan with sunroof\premium\sports to an 05 sedan with only sports package\no sunroof. 05 felt waaay stiffer and I believe not having a giant hole cut in the roof was a big factor

2008 G35 Journey Sedan no sunroof
Are you sure it was an '09 with sport seats and the S badge on the back? Not a journey with a wheel upgrade?

Maybe the ordering options were changed midway through the model year.

No sunroof adds 2-3" of headroom in front and 1" in back.

If you're over 6' and wear a helmet at the track...

go for it. Otherwise, it may be rare, but it's also a luxury car without luxury - nowhere at resale.

yep. the window sticker said sport package only. and there were paddle shifters.

it has no extra luxury features. but that also means you can shave a lot off msrp. maybe they'd even give $7500 off, including current cash incentive.

I have a 2008 G35XS. I ordered my car with AWD & the sport package with out the premium package or navigation. I didnt really need any of the stuff in the premium package and didnt want to pay the extra $5K to get nav (Prem+Nav). I live in Chicago so my car is pretty rare. I see a ton of G35X but almost never do I see an XS.

I know this is off topic, but I am loving the new 2011 M!
