TSB: ITB08-017 Can the ECM Reflash be Reversed??

Brought my 2007 G35X for service to my Infiniti Dealer. I never complained about "surging or throttle sensitivity". They went ahead and applied the TSB referenced here (017) which Reprograms the ECM. Now the car performs completely differently: slight hesitation when you "step on it"; very slight roughness at idle; and the tranny shift points are affected.... AAAAHHHHH, I'm pissed. Brought it back, Service Advisor says that it will adjust to you driving.. BS. Can this be Reversed??? I liked the way she drove. I guess the Dealer gets $$$$ for applying the TSB as "warranty work".. I'll keep you posted if i can about this.

yeah, I'd like to know too. I know a lot of guys like the more linear acceleration that comes with the ECM update, but I liked the original feel much more.

Yes, I would take it back in a heartbeat. Just like the above poster said, I considered it "responsive."

Anyone applies that update to mine and all hell is going to break loose.
I've driven the G with the update. I don't want it.
What some people called touchy, I also call responsive.

I guess the stupid were rear-ending people at lights and stuff due to it being too sensitive. Many complaints later, the ECU update came out.

I like my car just the way it is... without the update.

Well guys, so far I'm no where with the dealer.... Now I'm going in to the Service Manager on Tuesday next, go for a drive with the tech and Scream like Hell. I did NOT complain about the surging or driveability of my 07 G35, but as noted as the starter of this thread, the dealer went ahead and applied the ECU reflash. The "advisor" put it on the service order as a complaint of surging. They went ahead and "ruined" my car. It's slightly hesitant, the shifting in both D and DS modes is different, and it "feels" like a different car. AAAAHHH this has pissed me to no end!!! The advisor keeps side steping what has been done. I don't think it can be reversed.

I've heard in the past that it cannot be reversed, but I'm hoping they can help you.
What a bummer...

If it came down to it, wouldn't it be possible to replace the "updated" ecm with either a new (expensive) one or maybe even a used original one from a savage yard? Would anti-theft features make this impossible without dealer involvement?

pride: I don't think I'd go THAT FAR......installing a older ECU !!. I don't understand why They can't just reload the original program from the 07 system. last year Dealer applied the TSB 07- 028 which adjusted the throttle sensitivity "just right" IMO. The08-017 TSB applied a couple of weeks ago -Unauthorized by me btw - has totally CHANGED the car's driveability....AAAAAHHHH as I said B 4.

I almost got them to reflash my car last year because of the surge on downhills in cruise. I am so glad I didn't .

The TSB 028 was OK. Its the newer one : 08-017 TSB reflash which changes and reduces the throttle sensitivity that irks me....It makes the 07 G35X behave more like the 08s . Idriven the 08s as loaners, yep that's what MY Car feels like now...slight hesitation - less throttle sensitivity, and changes shift points in the tranny.

I was told the reflash for the cruise surge also affected the throttle sensitivity for the 07.

I don't frequent this forum that often but I am glad I read this. I will make a point of telling the service guys NOT to do the TSB.

Thanks!
