What happened your 07 motor was a mapping for the 08 motor so it would make sense that it could cause problems (replacement ECM...holy crap) but I am now confused about the two I had done last year.

As posted, those two ECM flashes were a definite improvement, I am not getting the problems of the other posters; unless this is down to personal preference and some simply enjoy the "sensitive" throttle response OR is there an organic problem created by the two reflashes last year..or just the 2009 reflash for the 2007 motor..?

Scuse me for being dopey

Just to clarify this issue that I started: a new ECM was installed. The dealer verified that it was not REFLASHED with 028 or 045 from 2007. The feeling of my 07 is back, quick throttle response, very close to the way my 07 ran after applying 028 last year. She shifts smoothly. BUT, I have the "rough Idle at Cold Engine start" issue. That was evident when the dealer applied ITB08-017 - that's the reflash that made my 07 feel like the 08s [less throttle sensitive - more hesitant]. Now after reading about the TSB 045a, I'm tempted to bring 'er in to the dealer b/c the rough & slightly variant idle at cold engine start is present. Damn these electronics.

Cool

Well all I can say is that after the 045a reflash I have no issues of any kind cold or hot. My friends did not notice the hesitation I spoke of you would have had to have the car new to really tell the difference and I did. G is now back to it's old self. Mine is also a 2007 G35x. But to be honest like I said before I never had an idle problem. Hope this helps almatti.

Hmm...just came back from the dealer...here's what I have to report.

I requested this new ECU update ITB07-045A to be applied, but no go. They already said I had the latest update.

The previous sensitive throttle ECU update that I had gotten was Revision D (CONSULT will actually read the ECU part number as 23710-JK6xD). If you read the ITB07-45a TSB, it instructs the dealer to apply the update ONLY IF CONSULT reads your ECU as Revision A or B. Since my ECU is already Revision D, the dealer could not apply the update per the instructions. I don't know, perhaps they can, but just aren't willing to ignore the TSB's instructions and just do it?

Anyway, they did perform the Idle Air Volume Learning (which I had requested last time, but apparently they didn't do it correctly) which the dealer is supposed to perform after every ECU flash, so hopefully that'll solve the idle problem that the Revision D update gave me..

Guys: As the dealer service rep said as i departed after they installed the new ECM, give it some time to "re-learn". Now after a couple of weeks, the peppy throttle is there like old, but there is a slight cold engine rough idle. In fact, the throttle is almost too touchy like 2 years ago before they applied TSB IT07-028 (Cruise Control surges) which was applicable to both cruise control issues and a touch throttle. When they applied that TSB, it was perfect.....
