Windshield washer fluid dip stick

Do we have it on our cars? I never bothered to look since the dealership did all the maintenance, until I detailed my car and looked under my hood. No windshield washer fluid dip stick! Please don't tell me my dealership lost it!

I've never heard of such a thing before.
The fluid tank should have a cap, but there's no dip stick.

Dip sticks are for fluids that have to be kept at a specific level.
Washer fluid... You can fill that right to the top, so a level specifying dip stick is not necessary.

Holy smokes , I guess I have not owned the right cars because I have never heartd of a windshield washer with a dip stick. The resevoir might have a float in it but that's it.

I'm curious. What model did you have that provided a dip stick ?

I have a 2001 toyota celica that has a long plastic dip stick in its windshield washer fluid tank, it shows where the fluid level is at. Oops my bad. Haha thanks though!

We have a warning light that comes on when the level gets to a low point.
No dipstick needed in the G

I am with you Gride, I had a car like that too, but like AV said you have a light which comes on if you ever get that low so no worries, and no one jacked the dip stick from you.

My washer pressure is so low not enough comes out. I didnt even notice the pressure was low until I got a G37 sedan as a loaner and saw the spray goes up like 1/2 way up the windshield, my G35 goes up like 1/4, they prolly put a better pump in it now, or I got a bum system tho. Nothing to officially complain about yet to the dealer since they are hooking me up pretty good right now..... sorry for the rant, just drank some real DD coffee.... caffeine FTW

+1 Caffiene FTW!

Yeah.. no worries. No such thing as a bad question around here.

I will admit though, this one took me by surprise, but only because I've never owned a car with a washer fluid dip stick... and I've had a few cars in my day.
78 Ford Pinto
74 Olds Omega
89 Chevy Z24
90 Jeep Wrangler
90 Chevy Beretta (Indy Pace Car)
94 Ford SHO
00 Honda Accord
96 Toyota Tacoma
00 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited
06 Acura MDX
07 Infiniti G
None of these had a washer dip stick.

I also had a 65, 66, 67, 68, 69, & 74 Ford Mustang and I can't honestly can't remember them having one either, but I'm not 110% sure.
I did love the 65's intermittent wiper though. It was a small pedal under the left foot, near the high beam switch. Tapping it with your foot caused the wipers to sweep once. That was kinda cool.

The reservoir is clear, why would you want a dip stick? And what would it be made of wood? There is not enough viscosity in wiper fluid to even show up on a metal dips stick.

I found it kinda handy since it let you know the level you where at instead of just letting it go till the light went on. It was a plastic strip with holes cut out ever inch or so. The surface tension was enough to fill the holes which the fluid was above. But it was not that big of a deal I usually just fill mine up ever couple of months and haven't ran out since.

AV, now that is an impressive list of cars!! I cant believe you admitted to driving a pinto, j/k. My brother had one, glad you both survived, lol.

lol windshield washer dipstick...

There's no such thing has a windshield washer dipstick in most cars, in fact, most cars have a clear windshield washer tank so you can just pop the hood and look, and if it doesn't, open the cap and just peak down into it.

You shouldn't buy a BMW...who knows how you'd react to the fact that theres no oil dipstick
