They said all year models of the G35 had problems, including the 07 and up. Why would they say that? They won't specify in their threads, just simply stated there are mechanical issues with this car...I thought it was pretty solid

That **** happens on every car forum, not only there. Fanboys will be fanboys, and will say that "our car doesn't have as many problems as brand 'x' " or crap like that.

Every car will have problems, no matter what. Just look at overall customer satisfaction on websites that actually track that data, and not what the noobs say.

On a scale of 1-10, what would you say the satisfaction overall is for the 07+ G sedan?

I have had 0 mechanical issues on my 07 sedan. Only problems I can name are minor things like

- sunroof rubber (dealer fixed)
- gas cap tether (dealer fixed)
- rattle in door panel
- rattle in roof liner
- sometimes dash makes rubbing sound
- Metal spring vibration in passenger seat belt clip
- Passenger airbag warning ligh goes on when my 120lb gf gets in the car

Thats about it. I am not saying these things are not bad or not annoying but i would rather have these minor issues than a mechanical flaw.

I love my G35 Sedan and i would buy the 3rd gen when it comes out.

I'm on my second G and over-all I would say 8. My only beef with the G is the interior. I wished they would of used better materials that don't expand and shrink with temperatures. Car tends to make too many weird interior noises.

But I really love the G. Otherwise I wouldn't of traded my 08xS for an 09 G37S Sedan. I would of bought something else.

I'd give my '07 a solid 9. No major problems ever, just a few minor fixes required (sunroof liner, window speed) and a couple recall items (key fob, front brakes). I don't have any rattles or misalignments. Everything wrong was fixed within a day at no charge and I got a nice loaner too. In 2007, Infiniti (as a whole) was rated #1 by owners in vehicle satisfaction by AutoPacific. Infiniti always does well with JDPower quality awards too.

no mechanical issues whatsoever. the only major things are probably the idle rpm dropping and the shifter getting stuck in D mode, both of which are electrical. and to be honest at 55C (131F) i wouldn't be surprised :O
i'd give it a 8/10. I'm gonna keep this car until a turbo version is released. then it's time for a TT G coupe!!

My 07 and 08 I gave solid 9.

Mechanically actually the Infniti is one of the best. Let me see if I find it.

Here is JD power's list. That speeks for itself.

http://www.jdpower.com/autos/ratings...tings-by-brand

Also the G37 was rated higher on residuall value than any other competitor.

The problem I see is people lurking around forums and they see some posts few or maybe one member having problem with this or that. Than they jump to a conclusion and go saying this car has huge problems. Making assumption from few posts.

^^ Interesting that Infiniti and Lexus are the only 2 to get a 5 rating for their powertrain...

they are just trying to find a reason to make themselves feel better when Gs pull on them when they try to race
