Is this a fuel discrepancy?
2007 Sedan Manual
Page 9-2 shows a table with Recommended Fuel Specifications:
"Unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 91 AKI (RON 96)"
Page 9-3 Fuel Recommendation:
"Infiniti recommends the use of premium unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 93 AKI (Anti-Knock Index) number (Research octane number 98)
If unleaded premium gasoline is not available, you may use regular unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87 AKI number (Research octane number 91), but you may notice a decrease in performance)"
So which is it? 91? 93?
AKI is the number thats on the majority of U.S. pumps.

But I think it's a moot point because most states either have 91 or 93, not both. I know we get delicious 93 octane in Texas, but the Cali guys can only get 91

Yeah I've been reading that most of Cali only offers 91.
I'm in Southwest Florida where all gas stations offer 93.
But I'm noticing lately that some 7-11's are starting to offer 91.
All the posts say that 91 is minimum.
But after reading the manual, I'm not so sure.
It appears that 93 is the minimum recommendation.
Am I wrong?

I am in Cali in the North Hollywood area and there are some gas stations that offer high octane like 101, but since cali doesnt realy get higher octane than 91 in large quantities a gallon of this is around $8
And I've heard something about fuel ratings varying between here and europe. What I heard was something like 91 here is 95 ish or so there because here they are more strict on rating gas. Not sure but could meen a lot.

It has nothing to do with being stricter on rating gas.
Europe uses a rating system called (RON) Research Octane Number.
Same gas but the units result in a 4-5 point difference vs our Octane rating on U.S. pumps, Anti-Knock Index (AKI).
