Recently test drove an 07x but am interested in an S sedan, auto. Is there any noticeable differences in the driving experience between the two?

you should just get a G35XS

X means all wheel drive
XS means all wheel drive and sports package

The S should drive "sportier" due to the sport suspension and different sway bars.

I'm leaning heavily towards the S, was just curious what the major hardware differences were between the two. Also could these differences make the S noticeably quicker?

There are no horsepower differences, or any power adders to the S, if that's what you're referring to.

^+1 but X is heavier and the all wheel drive will result in slightly lower numbers than the S RWD, also the suspension tightening makes A LOT of difference with the tougher springs, beefier sways and bigger brakes, go and drive both and i can guarantee you that you will feel the difference in turns and bumps for sure... G/L

There is no difference in the "feel" of an X and an xS as they share the same suspension components.
However there will be a difference in the handling of an S model vs an X/xS model because the S has a sport tuned suspension

yes as you said those time differences are minuscule and the S is only slightly better on warm dry pavement in a straight line. AWD FTW under any other conditions.

Handling is better with sport tuned suspension. But an overlooked advantage is the larger sport brakes, which don't get enough praise. They are superb and have gotten me--a very spirited driver--out of some tight spots with ease.

exactly...give me some snow/rain/ice and lets see where the "S" goes.

i've always loved that aspect of the X...to be quick in the summer and quick in the winter. i remember laughing my a$$ off at a RWD lexus IS350 last winter, the guy couldn't move in the intersection when the light went green (slight uphill). so he kept gunning it and nailed the curb with his back wheels. me, i just gunned it and went on happily ever after.

So you laughed at a guy for not having traction in his RWD luxury car and laughed when he smashed it into a wall?? that's fvcked up. I guess whatever makes you feel better about your ride right

Damn thanks for all replies. I live in NY so we get about 2 months of snow fall. To sum it up I test drove an X last week and loved it and was wondering if I'll be able to notice a stiffer suspension with the S? Anyway I'll be holding out until I find an S regardless because I love the wheels other exterior upgrades over the X.
Oh and can someone give me a quick explanation of how the S automatic rev matches? Does that only occur in a certain mode? Anyone experience it?
