Opinions regarding new tires

Hola!

After having my 08 G35 and putting 41K miles on the factory tires.. it's time that I replace them with some new ones. I was looking up tires on different sites and reading reviews with all of them having mixed reviews. Since this is all about G35's I thought that I would ask the G Community to get opinions on what you think I should get. I have the stock 17" wheels so I am looking only to put new tires... Unless you have other opinions on me just getting a wheel and tire package. Please help!

Thanks,
Rahul P.

Depends on what kind of driver you are.

I'm fairly conservative but love carving the corners and just went through the same thing you are going through. I wanted something with good performance, but wanted them to be quiet and reasonably long lasting as well.

I also run the stock 17" seven spoke wheels on my 2005 sedan.

I bought the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity touring tire. Fantastic tires. A bit pricey, but super quiet, I gave up nothing in terms of performance, they're still v-rated, but also carry a 50,000 mile rating. I live in the pacific northwest, so all-around traction was important - rain, dry, and occasional light snow.

They're great.

Bridgestone sounds like a good tire. I was also looking at the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus tires. With price they are comparable with the Bridgestone Turanze Serenity and I can also get both at Discount Tire. Would you think that either one of them are acceptable for being a tire to be driven with or do you believe that the Bridgestone would be a better choice. I am from Dallas and it's mostly dry driving.

Thanks Hiten haha

for what you're looking for, check out the Ecsta LX Platinum (KU27).

im also in the market for tires and being here in kansas city its important to get a good all season tire. i am looking at the michelin pilot sport a/s and also the yokahama advan s4. I have all but decided to get the michelin's as they offer a $70 rebate from discounttire. My question to you guys (total newb question), should i stick with the stock 225/55/17 or can I go up to a 235/55/17 tire for a wider tire? Has anyone does this? Does it rub at all?

I also was thinking about the Michelin tires from discount tire. Although they are a bit pricey people have had nothing but highly positive feedback on them ranging from 2K to 20K miles.

I had wider tires before when I had my Honda, I wasn't too thrilled with them because the sidewall seemed to be bulging out off of the rim. I am going to stick with the stock size of 225/55/17.

I am in KC too! Specifically, OP. I would go with Michelin, best tire IMO. I would stay with the stock width...dont see any reason to go to a 235.

Michellins are good but are going to wear done way faster than the Turanza serenitys. Both are pricey but IMO like they say Bridgestone or nothing.

I had Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires on my previous Maxima (2000 SE). Great tires, I'll get those for my G35x when the originals finally wear out this summer.

I have Michelin PS2s and love them. I've had them for about 8K and the wear is great.
