IMHO front and rear brake pads should be made from similar material for them to work well together. I would just stay with OEM pads with stock rotors (you can buy OEM pads online, have rotors resurfaced & pads replaced for much less than $450). Given how crappy the stock rotors are, I would replace the rotors in the future and upgrade the pads then.

 

I am thinking he misspoke. Every other Infiniti dealer in Atlanta is quoting 325 for rear brake pads/rotor resurfacing. And everyone is saying the TSB for the front brake pads/rotos could apply to my case, but they wont do the rear rotors for free even with the second TSB. I doubt they even read them properly.

The Nissan dealers are quoting 200 to 290 on rear brake pads/rotor resurfacing.

 

I replace my pads on my own as they're inexpensive and easy to replace.
I've complained about my rotors and the apparent lack of quality and my dealer has taken care of me.
15k - Rotors were turned
40K - Rotors were replaced
60K - Rotors were turned with a promise to replace if necessary before 70K
All work and parts were free.

Not too bad, but once they are done taking care of me, these stock rotors will have to go. They're crap.

 

i brought in my car for the two year service today and gave them this TSB as my breaks are pulsating pretty badly.

Anyway, i have a g37x loaner and compared to my 2008 g35x, the car handles much better and doesn't sway as much nor does it have much road noise. I can understand the road noise is probably due to my tires having 25 - 50% left...but the handling, could it be my tires are old or my suspension is wearing out? I don't drive that agressive...

 

i thought there was only the tsb for the front? there is a second one for the rear as well?

The ITB09-037B is for the front pads/rotors. What is the purpose of ITB00-024e? I was assuming based on the comments by people here that may apply to the rear rotors(but not pads) as well. Maybe I just assumed wrong. Reading through 024e, other than a claims information one liner, I don't see any place where the dealer has to replace the rear rotors. That is one reason why I am not going to fight the dealer if they dont resurface the rotors for free.

There are two Nissan dealershps in atlanta that are actually doing this for around 190. That is a huge difference in price that I am tempted to go with one of them. That includes pads and resurfacing. The 350Zs - do they include similar rotors? One of these dealers messed up my oil change recently but have done a decent job over the years. So I am wondering if I should just go with them. They can't mess up the resurfacing , can they? Are there any instructions I need to give them to make sure they are doing it right? Is the consensus to pretty much go with aftermarket rotors once the lifespan of these rotors is done with? (maybe in the 70-80K range?).

[UPDATE]: I am going ahead with Regal Nissan. They are offering rear pads and resurfacing for 170 plus when I talked to them in person about another matter.
