Well, now that pocket proved he can read, he/she should probably understand that things don't always work the way they're supposed to.
So.....I've locked my key in the trunk, and this guy apparently locked his in the car. We all know how it's supposed to work though, thanks!

This only applies to the 07+ that has the intelligent key, the 05 did not have the intelligent key so there was no lockout protection. I've also locked my keyfob in the trunk on my pre-07 G coupe.
Can we lock our FOB inside our G?

At least that's the only way I can think of that one can bypass the lockout protection.
It's all been discussed before in other threads.

the only reason i put it in the cup holder is because i was getting a car wash.. and i had to leave the keys in there for the guy to run the car through the machine
Once the car is started you can drive it as far away from the key FOB as you like until it runs out of fuel or the driver shuts it off...whichever comes first.
No. The car will continue to run if you keep the key in your pocket while the attendant takes it through the carwash.

Depends where you take your car. When I lived in Atlanta, I used to take my car to a place that would turn the car off while it was rolling through and then turn it back on at the end of the wash and pull it out and then clear the interior.... I always had to leave my keys in the cupholder or he wouldnt be able to turn it on in time and have a chance of the car behind him running into mine!

soakgame thought the fob needed to be IN the car for it to keep running. I only explained that it doesn't. It's good to know.
