Just realized something about the smart key...

If the smart key is inside the car, the door will not "unlock" if someone presses the lock/unlock button on the door. You can even see the "key icon" light up if you move the smart key out the window and back into the cabin.

Just thought that was interesting since I always wondered how safe this feature was if you were sitting in the car someone tries to get into the car with you inside it.

Now I know.

Infiniti smart key is pretty good. You can stay on one sidfe of the car with the key and somebody on the other side of the car at the passanger door and you are the only one who can unlock the door.

I like how they got it right with everything. I think it is stupid like some other makers did. Some cars you have to insert the fob to be able to start the car. Well so what is the different from the key. LOL

I just got into a mini debate with a guy on YouTube because, in the comments, he was telling all the viewers that the FOB holder in the lower left dash charges the FOB. I politely told him it does NOT and even mentioned the CR2032 battery. His/her response was "yea it does..." lol...I directed him to our wonderful forum since he doesn't believe me.
It would be cool if it did though.
EDIT: The same guy just replied to me via email saying he has an 09 Altima and that his intelligent key is rechargeable. I directed him to his own owners manual online to point out that NO his is not rechargeable either.
