HID bulb brand for sedan
HID bulb brand for sedan
What's the brand and model for the HID bulb for the 07+ sedan? Is it Philips 85122, Philips 85122+, or Osram ???
I'd like to purchase as close as possible to the OEM one. Any recommendation where I can buy these too?
Thanks.

I think bmw uses the philips 85122 bulb as their oem....which is better imo...the stock bulbs I have are different intensities...the bmw bulbs seem brighter and illuminate better.
I want to try the Philips 85122+ (I believe it's 4100k)...They have virtually no color shifting while the Philips 85122 has color shifting as they get older....I usually would get these here...

These are only made in Germany.
Philips are the most well known company for making HIDs. I think they pioneered the HID technology. You can't go wrong with them.

I wonder if the Philips Bulb is capable of hi beam lights...Our cars use the same bulb for high beams, I believe...does the ballast switch from 35 watts to 55 watts? Please can someone confirm that the Philips bulbs are compatible with the high beams?
The "+" series has already technically been color-shifted from the factory (It's closer to 5000k in reality. Good 4100/4300k bulbs eventually cool down as it shifts). It was developed to help owners replace just one burnt out bulb while maintaining uniformity between both headlights.
^ They actually developed it for that reason? Helping out the consumers, woooowww, but good. I hate seeing cars approaching with two different intensities headlights. I dont think some of them even know it's like that, they just replaced one bulb and rolled out.
Or maybe they're aimed differently which would mimic the look of different intnsity.

My headlights are different intensities, but I am too lazy to replace them and they kind of cost a lot of money. My headlights still work fine and I still can see the road well...
Here is the comparison of the two:

My mistake, it's been a while since i had those bulbs (on my Maxima). I double-checked my records and it was the CM-series that i had, which are closer to 5000k, not the + series.
