Sold the G

Last weekend I traded her in. Really wanted something different. Tried to get into a new G but couldnt justify the cost difference for really no change in styling/driving. I will miss her but we had some good times together.

Ended up getting into a new Acura TSX 4 cylinder. I know, totally different type of car. But it actually is kinda fun to drive. Feels VERY light compared to the G. And the gas mileage...what a wonderful thing! Smooth powertrain and dont really notice the power difference unless passing.

I now know what all you Acura guys are talking about when saying their soundsystem beats the Bose studio on Wheels. I got the tech package with the ELS Sound and it is absolutely incredible.

Aw well, I will read posts from time to time and just might be back in three years...:thewa ve:

UPDATE: I AM BACK! See post 44 of the thread!!!

Pretty dramatic change but the weight reduction will make the Acura fairly responsive. I doubt I'd be willing to drop that much HP in a single swoop, I'd probably have to do it over 3-4 cars over a long period of time and end up driving a Prius to the retirement home, lol.
At any rate, enjoy your new ride OP, they are pretty nice looking cars and should be fun to flick around while you're passing those gas stations

Congrats...

The TSX is a nice driving car. I hope you got the stick, thats the only way to drive 4 banger Honda products. They make the best manual trannys around.

Yeah you may make all of us jealous if gas goes to 5 bucks a gallon....

Enjoy.

Why not the 6 cylinder TSX? Congrats on the nerw ride. Personally not fan of the new Acura's look. However out of all the new Acuras I think the TSX is the better looking.

Post some pictures.

Reduction in weight is fairly slim, not nearly enough to justify losing 106 HP.

I think some of the comments are from people who haven't actually driven the 4 cyl navi TSX? I drove them quite a bit when my Integra was at the dealer and it really is a nice car.

The Nav/stereo system is better than the G's, the car feels very light on its' feet, and gets great mpgs. Interior looks slightly more modern than the G's. I had alot of fun beating on the TSX. It just begged to be flogged and paddle shifted. Not what I expected out of the 4 banger!

I probably would've bought one, but I'm 6'7" and the center console hit my knee in a way that grew tiresome quickly. But, there was more headroom than the G and quite a bit of room inside (other than the wide center console).

I've read the 6 cylinder option takes alot of the "light" feeling away from the car and that it sort of ruins it...despite making more power and accelerating better. After driving it, I can see why they said that.

Anyway, enjoy your new car. I'll be interested to see how ya feel about it after a year or two of driving it.

Definitely wouldn't have been my first choice, but whatever works for you! Hope you hang around here!

My friend at work just bought a '07 4 cyl TSX.

I own an 06 MDX and although it has been a good car, I feel that Acura is trying to be a luxury brand without supplying a luxury product.
My opinion but I think they're overpriced for what you get and I won't be buying one again.

They're basically upscale Hondas without the upscale.

Well..I 'm about to do the same. After long hard consideration - my modded G is up for sale, as well.

My main reason is I'm sick of dealing with potholes and roads here in LA. They keep getting worse and worse. So I'm going with a new 2011 Wrangler ( I used to always have a Wrangler as a second car until 2008). The new interior rocks, all amenities, and I can drive over anything.

I will miss my G - it's the only car of 44 I've kept longer than 2 years.

It's in the classifieds if anyone's interested.

I like the TSX - and actually the ZDX - but then I'd just be back in the same boat with the roads.
