I have a 08 also, and luckily i have not had the car stall on me or physically shake, but during idle or when i am stopped at a light i do occassionally see the RPM drop a little bit before going back up.... but i assumed its normal. Reading this stuff is kind of making me paranoid and notice the RPM behavior more than usual
If idle RPM drops a little then goes back up when the car is stopped (N or D doesn't matter) and fully warmed up, then that's a completely different issue which I made a thread about here.

i have the same issue. I am going into Infiniti next week to get my ecu updated.

Just wondering, cleaning TB does any smoother throttle?

nearly certain that cleaning your maf's will resolve your issue or at least improve the condition of your idle. I would also clean the TB's and perform the idle air reset procedure while i was there.

of course. Idle speed on the G35, if i remember correctly, is 650 +- 50 RPM. if you get a digital read out, you will notice that its moving quite a bit. An engine is far from a perfect machine

Mass air flow sensor... it controls the fuel air mixture in the engine... I think.

do people seriously warm up their cars?? i can understand for a 78 toyota but on these newer cars...seriously unnecessary, any real professional driver will tell you that there's nothing better than some easy driving to get the car warmed up.

Sorry about deriving this thread but I have some unfinished business. My car is still under warranty for the summer. Would cleaning TBs myself affect warranty, assuming everything went ok? am I allowed to open it up?

I cleaned my tb after biting my nails for over a month about it. Didn't have any problems, didn't have to take the tb off, and the idle is perfect now. No problems so Infiniti doesn't know anything and warranty is unaffected.

Make sure car is completely off. U dont need to remove the tb, just make sure u clean the insides as much as u can and as thoroughly as possible. Look up the diy on tb cleaning. Good luck
