I bought my 07' G to last, and electronics are the only thing that really worries me.

N/A cars are the least maintenance too.

This is one of the best threads I've seen yet - 190k yikes. Thank you much, made my day.

I'm coming from Vdubs which are incredible rides but lots of work. My 1.8t put out a ton of power but every month it was something new. After a while it just gets old. My 2cents is that the VQ35HR engine is pretty hard to beat. Decent power, livable mpg, longevity, low maintenance, sounds good when you want to hear it. What I miss??

everything on the car worked still btw. the engineers thought JUST a lil harder than they did with the 1g cars. :/ audio units, window/lock motors, cam sensors are NOT common issues with these cars. mainly just the common interior pieces are as common as it gets. along with the front brake judder until you get the updated hardware and backing plates. has my vote for a reliable new infiniti car!

Can you elaborate more on "updated hardware and backing plates"?

I want to make sure I have what you have as I still have factory warranty. actually more like it is covered under Elite warranty.

the_coupe: do you expect similar results from the G37 engine long term? (37VHR)

if you look at the backing plate for your front brakes.....you'll notice there isnt much of one....which leaves the entire rotor unprotected from the elements. this makes the front brakes warp easily and gives you a brake judder. if you're still under warranty with a brake pulsation/judder/shake....take it in...they'll perform the bulletin which will turn your rotors, put on the new backing plates and new pads with hardware.

as far as the vq37hr, i'd assume it should be just as reliable. i havent seen one with any problems yet ALTHOUGH there is a TSB for oil consumption on them, another thing i havent seen in a G. so i'd say it is trailing along with the 35 as far as reliability and durability.

and dj...if you could read lol.....the first line says it was an 07 sedan.
