Infiniti g35s belt replacement

I need to change the main serpitine belt and didn't know if you all have a preferred belt supplier or brand. Thanks...

Also u might wanna check out the Belt DIY it has a few links to some other good quality yet cheap belts. Dayco is always good.

yeah you can find belts for cheap anywhere but the main brands really are dayco and gates to my knowledge.

definitely use my DIY, it will make life much easier!

Bob... when you did the replacement did you have to drain the coolant expansion tank? or just disconnect it and set it to the side?

I was looking at your DIY and this question came to me.

u should not need to drain it, just remove and put aside.

Cervelo - like kool said, just put it aside, no draining necessary. there shouldn't be very much in there.

Thanks guys... I should have checked this first before paying the dealer $200 bucks to change mine out...

How long do these last before you need to get them replaced? I am sitting at 32k right now.

Cervelo - don't feel bad. i was dumb enough to pay the nissan dealer like $350 to change my tranny fluid last year. never again!!

the recommended interval is 30k to avoid any hassles of a broken belt while driving which is painful and can cause damage to the car, however im at over 52k and have been checking the belt all the time and only now is it starting to exhibit little cracks, i was planning on changing it @50k but didnt have time, ill be doing it soon, it worth doing every 30k for $30.....

bluedevils - as stated, the infiniti shop manual actually states 30k, however, at 60k i had no noticeable belt wear but i could hear mine squeaking so i replaced it. it's worth the $30 peace of mind. i could have sworn though that i saw another infiniti manual which stated it's a 60k belt life, ill check again....
