problem when driving up ramps

Hey guys,

I am having a problem with my 07 G35x, hopefully someone can help me find out what it is. Whenever i start my car in the morning and headed out of my underground parking lot, when I am going up the ramp (pretty steep) it acts up, the rpms go all over the place and the car kinda jerks around (it feels like its not getting enough gas). Driving after that is totally fine and when the car is fully warmed up it does not do it.

I called the dealer and explained this over the phone to see if he may know what it is, and he the only thing he could think of is maybe water in the gas tank. He told me to get some water remover you can buy at any auto store and try that. Obv had no luck.

Gonna be bringing it in to the dealer but would like to know what i can expect.

Thanks guys!

try warming up the car for 30 seconds tomorrow morning.. the transmission/engine might not be warm enough. The car is probably trying to prevent you from over revving the cold engine.

My only guess is to either fully let the car warm up, or just do some simple maintenance!

Welcome to the forum!

It could be water but if it doesn't do it when the car is warmed up then that kind of rules that out. Also, you shouldn't have to warm-up any more than 30 seconds if parked in doors and in warm weather. Are you in Alaska ?
- Are you just starting and going without any warm-up when this occurs?
- How long does it have to warm-up so that it does not have an issue going up the ramp?
- How much fuel is in the tank when this occurs? i.e. full, 1/2, 1/4, near E

Oh, can I play too?

How many miles are on the car?
Has the car seen much in terms of routine maintenance?
Are the throttle bodies in need of cleaning... are they filthy?
Are you getting any CEL's?
Has the car always done this or is this something new that just recently started occurring?

The 07 G35X with 126k on it that I detailed had a hesitation every time I drove it up my driveway. It did something very similar.

Thanks, I live in Toronto,Canada. I usually let my car warmup at least a min or 2, I have driven around for 30min and tried to go up the ramp and it does not do it. It does not matter how much gas is in there.

She has about 80k on her. I have done regular maintenance since i bought her a year ago, not really sure about previous owner but it did not have this problem, this just started happening recently. Throttle bodies are pretty clean and no CEL.

Drivability issues as follows:
• Rough idle during the first minute of engine operation after cold engine start.
And/or
• Slight engine speed fluctuation during light throttle acceleration during the first ten minutes of driving after cold soak.
This sounds like it could be the issue, will they know about this?

Went to the dealer yesterday and got the ECU updated. I am happy to say that the problems did not happen this morning when I took the car out. Hopefully it is gone for good!

Thanks Treacherous!!!
