Hi all,

First Infiniti owner here, just got a an '08 xS 4-Door a couple weeks ago. '00 VR6 Jetta before that.
Loving it so far

So, was just wondering if this car has a sport/different suspension, seems more stiff than I thought it would, or just the way it is? I'm not complaining at all ...just wondering.

Welcome and congratulations.

Yes, your xS has a front sport tuned suspension which is different than the base, X and Journey. What you don't get (that the S has) is VLSD, Akebono Brakes, rear shock tuning and staggered wheels. Other than than you get the S looks and of course, awd.

^No, the XS and the X use the same suspension. Only the rwd S uses different springs and shocks.

OP, you're the first I've heard to say you find the oem suspension on the x stiff...I found it quite the opposite haha. It was too soft for me.

NOPE, sorry but the S sedan did not have Akebobos in '08.

The ONLY model to get them in '08 was the G37S coupes. THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A G35 SEDAN WITH AKEBONOS, just G37's !

Are you sure they are exactly the same? According to Infiniti, (for the 08's) the 'unique front suspension geometry tuning' was part of AWD Sport model package.

 

I've taken my sport brakes off, they definitely are not Akebono, I donno who makes them, couldn't find a obvious maker stamp anywhere. They are a single giant piston on them though, the 12.6" brakes have the dual piston (but smaller). Seem to stop ok tho.
