Hood over tach and speedo came unglued

I have an 07 G35S Sedan, with 50K on it and 4 1/2 years old ran out of warranty 4 months ago. I came out to my car one day and noticed the epoxy holding the hood over my speedo on has come undone. I took it to Infiniti (this is my 6th nissan product)and they said oh your warranty is out then you will have pay $595 for a new hood. I said it needs some epoxy thats all they said that will be $595. I said ok I am going to call Infiniti Customer Service and I did they said ok lets make a case I always get my Infiniti serviced by Infiniti of Chantilly and this in my 6th Nissan/Infiniti product. They said they should do it in good faith. They were wrong they said sorry no one else has had that problem (basically said oh well).
Wondering if anyone else has had this problem?
Love my Infiniti hate the service department. BTW I have had two headlights replaced both the same one because they were getting moisture on the inside, the steering wheel has been replaced because of flaking as well and the arm rests on both sides of the car for the same problem. Power train has been rock solid so far!

Yep, it's VERY common. Shame on that dealer for pretending not to know that.

^ there is no aftermarket speedo cluster "hood" for these cars and the OEM is expensive but some high temp glue should take care of i easy

Very common defect. I saw 5 or 6 '07-'08 G35s before purchasing mine, and they ALL had that same issue. I purchased mine, and had the dealer replace the dash under warranty.
