I bought an apple extension cable from the apple store and they assured me that it would work, but when I tried it with my iPod cable in my 08 it didn't connect all I got was this accessary is not compatible. I then proceeded to buy 3 more cables from different manufacturers and it was the same thing. I then switched to the RCA method and it worked like a charm. Now that I have an 2011 G37 it comes with a USB slot And that solves all the problems that I had

Ok, now I see. It's got to be a compatibility issue with pins within the cables. There must be some that will work but finding one might be a pain. Probably need to find one manufactured about 2 years ago before Apple switched their pin configuration a bit which changed the power supply.
I'm aware of the 2011 advantage and love it, check my sig below

Yeah I saw I picked up a Vibrant Red 6MT sedan a month ago and love it and the USB cable is a major plus with the Bluetooth audio. I'm at school right now but when I get home I'll post pics of the audio setup with the RCA cables.

I'm trying to come to grips how you could say it "worked like a charm".

I posted about how to extend the factory iPod cable so that you can move your phone near the console. The product is iSimple® ReVolt™ (IS710) and supports charging.

I can confirm it works with an iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S, and iPad2. I have a 2008 Journey.

I would recommend combining this cable with a high quality mount from ProClip USA. I posted pics of my install here: https://g35driver.com/forums/v36-aud...d-console.html.

And I also said it burned out too. I mean that the sound quality was ok but I listen to the radio more. I'll get pics of the other setup I used tomorrow.
