Is ur car rolling to a stop on a sligh hill? I noticed when I drive my 5AT down a curving hill it automatically downshifts (not in DS mode, in regular D) to aid in the braking.... the car is smart enough to know when to do it on its own .... it always does it on the same hill and when I need to brake in an emergency ie. Some idiot cuts me off, it also downshifts to help me slow down.... even when not in DS mode

Sadly I misunderstood the instructions... and now that my car is turned off at the moment I'm a little heated up for making this dumb mistake. It would cut off exactly at ten seconds and it sounded like a CVT tranny at full throttle. No wonder I noticed an annoying sound afterwards I really think I either took some life away from the engine or I damaged something. I feel stupid

Relax!

These engines a very robust. I highly doubt you caused ANY long term impact on your engine.

Besides that, EVERYONE makes mistakes; it's just that they are perhaps more fortunate to have not posted their boo-boo's on a public forum.

Just to be sure I understand you; you're saying due to your test pipes you had an SES light on BEFORE you performed the ecu reset, and now that you've performed the reset procedure, you noticed that it never blinked during the process, and the SES light is still on like before, correct?

yes sir the light came on after the test pipes and I tried the non fouler diy but its not a good fit with it hitting some of the other components of the car. I tried taking the negative terminal of the batter off and once I reconnected it the light turned off and I performed the reset with success. The SES light def has to be off to perform this ecu reset.

Yep, that's what I was thinking, and good to know for sure. If you pulled the battery cable though, you basically killed two birds with one stone; it cleared your SES fault AND reset your ecu all at once. If you performed the pedal method after that, then it was was actually a second reset.

I've heard of some kind of a right-angle type non-foulers that allows you to work with tight clearances. You might try searching for them. It seems to me they were rather expensive though.

Anyway, glad your all reset now

Update with how my reset went, It was going really well for the past few days that i had reset it, it was always rolling down the road with no engine braking and now everytime i try to coast, i feel the same engine braking for a while and then after the car is slowed down, it will then feel like it shifts to a higher gear and thus making it roll better (but there is no point if it is already almost stopped) does anyone know what i am going through or am i the only one that is experiencing this?
