Rubbing sound coming in from the front @ slow speed? Wheel bearing?

At slow speed with the driver windows down, I can hear something rubbing against something and it sounds like metal.

Could it be wheel bearing? I am definitely taking the car in the dealer since its still under warranty. But the wheel bearing doesn't last 50k miles?

I'd check brakes, bearings, suspension in that order. Have you lifting the front and tried spinning the wheels? Also, try 'rocking' the wheels at 9:00 and 3:00, then again at 12:00 and 6:00.

My front wheel bearings only lasted untill 63k (which was last week), so its possible. My wheel bearings made the inside of my car sound like the inside of an airplane when landing though, not metal ringing. Have dealer check it out, could be indicator or shim from brakes rubbing.

maybe the compression rod. check this out. I know with my windows down and no music going slow i can hearing a lot of creaking or squeaking noise coming from the front when i am going over speed bumps and pot holes....dealer and two different mechanics apparently couldn't find anything.

Mystery solved ...

It was a nail in the front tire ...

On a side note, the nail didn't go all the way through, so no need to patch

having my front wheel bearings replaced as we speak. 08-35x, 70k miles. cost me $500 at the dealer. service guy said that if i had an extended warranty, this would have been covered... damn..

think of it this way

if you have paid $1700 for the extended warranty, you would have to get another $1200 of warranty work done before you can call it even.

but in fact, i am still debating if i should get extended warranty or not ...

damn lucky, every time I get a nail or something I need a new tire. On the fence with warranty too, mine expires this month (bumper to bumper).
