Question anyone has experienced like that?

in this morning (the weather like 28 F), i warm up my car then drive more than half hour, but i still feel hard to accelerate. when i acceleration, i heard the engine sound, however, the needle of MPH goes up very slow and i feel the car goes still that slow even though i accelerated hard.

*i just changed engine oil and oil filter 6 days ago.

everytime i warm up my car, then accelerate so smooth and fast, but right now it's different.

do you know what's going on?
thanks

Sounds like a transmission slipping issue. My car accelerated fine at 12F this morning. Engine and tranny was smooth without a full warm up. What viscosity engine oil did you use? Also, how many miles do you have on the car and when was the last time you changed transmission oil? If you put the wrong oil in or if there is a leak that could happen too.

I would first check the transmission oil. Many people forget to change the transmission oil and the transmission goes bad. With the way we treat our G's we should be changing the transmission oil every 30k miles according to the Owner's Manual. If not, at least get it changed after 60k miles.

Nah, you got it backwards. Actually, once it's warmed up, the engine should perform even better in the colder (thus denser) air.

Plus, once the engine warms up, the cold air gets warmed up before it goes into the combustion chamber anyways, so performance should be on par as if in warm weather...so the logic doesn't make sense that the cold air would cause an issue like the OP is having, especially after driving for 30 minutes. Maybe if the car was not warmed up and driven while the engine is cold, you may experience a decrease in performance.

It definitely sounds like a transmission slippage issue. The OP needs to check the transmission oil first and make sure the level is okay. The oil should be red color and have a sweet smell. If it smells burnt or if it's really dark and dirty, then get it changed asap. Deteriorating transmission oil can cause this kind of problem. It may be possible the transmission is already going bad.

Raymond, maybe a little more info on this,,, how many miles on car? Mathnerd is right, our throttle bodies are heated, so ambient air temp is irrelevant, I have driven my car down to - 29* F. and other than the tires took alittle while to get round again,, the car drove beautifully!

-29 where the hell you drive it in alaska or antarctica, doubt its his trans slipping, maybe just the trans stayed in a higher gear and it didnt downshift happens in automatics

His engine wouldn't be revving up then like he said in his original post. If the trans stayed in a higher gear, the engine would not be revving up fast like he said.

I would take the car to the dealer since you have 66k miles and still under powertrain warranty if the problem still persists. You can try manual mode and switch gears to see if it's more responsive.

Did you make sure you used Nissan Matic-S or J like stated in the owner's manual? Anyways, I would bring it to the dealer to have it looked at.
