Kristof's 07 G35x
Finally, after 2 years of being a member and procrastinating - I finally bought a 2nd generation G35x. Glad to be a member of this great car community.
A few quick pics:
I will post more pics once I get to clean it myself. The car lots "detailing" center is/was a joke and don't know car detailing from there left nut. But anyway, enjoy what I do have. Nothing more then a stock car you've all seen before
First mods:
Tint
lip spoiler
OEM chin spoiler
Z wheels

I also want to de-badge it, and black out all the chrome. I think I'll have a friend of mine vinyl wrap the pieces. I also need to refinish the ugly peeling interior pieces.

So, when I purchased the car it had the burnt out LED problem within the tail lamp assemblies. Me knowing that people on here has had that problem before and they've had to have them replaced under warranty, I knew that I needed to work out in the purchase agreement to have them replaced in order for me to purchase the car. They accepted and finally got them replaced today for freeeee (since im out of my factory warranty)
PICS:
After replaced:
The LED's that are off in the first pic would randomly flicker when on. It was embarassing to drive such a nice car around with half working tail lights. Oh, and when they checked them last weekend to see what the problems were, the dumb asses left the passenger side turn signal hanging out in the trunk So I drove around a week without a passenger turn signal. All fixed now though and I am thankful
On a side note, since the 07 models does not have iPOD hook up, has anyone ever tried these kits? Im seriously thinking about buying one to try it out.
In the next couple of weeks I am getting my Z wheels powder coated so I will need to purchase new tires soon. I read over the threads talking about staggered wheels on an X model and know what I need to do for it to work properly. Im confused on finding the correct tires though, but think I have found a correct way to find the measurements.
For these OEM wheels the specs are:
Front
Size: 18x8.0
Offset: +30mm
Weight: 24.4
Tire: 225/45/18
Rear
Size: 18x8.5
Offset: +33mm
Weight: 25.8
Tire: 245/45/18
I went to http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp and used the calculator to play around with the sizes. So far I have these measurements.
Front wheels: Keep the 225/45R18 with a diameter of 25.97"
Rear wheels: Change the size to 245/40R18 and the diameter is very close at 25.71"
Can someone please give me some input if Ive done this correctly? Im new at staggered setups and using them on a AWD vehicle.

Another thing, I purchased all LED replacements for my interior lights yesterday. Cant wait!
As soon as this weather clears up i'm taking my car in to have a paint restoration detail done. Hopefully this will help fix the neglect to the exterior by the previous owner since 2007. Ill have tons of pics!
