Serpentine drive belt replaced at dealer...

Hey guys,
Just wanted to share my experience with you.
Took in my car yesterday to sewell in dallas and wanted to replace the drive belt.
I was expecting to see an outrageous amount but surprisingly it wasn't as much as I initially thought ($300). Dropped it off and not even two hours later I received the ready status and went back and took care of the bill for $110.
After driving their g37 loaner which was almost brand new I noticed how better the handling the car was with the 17's vs the 18's I have on my ride.

I got mine done for free at the dealer when it started to make ticking sounds .... while they were tightening the pulleys they replaced it under warranty.

I don't think it is covered on the standard bumper 2 bumper or powertrain warranty... As I recall this was part of the scheduled maintenance that you were to complete every 30k. I'm not too aware about the elite warranty

I did have the elite.. maybe that's why they did it for free? It wouldn't make sense though... its a maintenance item

no its a maintaince item and not covered under any warranty, the DIY is super easy as posted on this forum thanks to the auto adjust pulley and one belt design on our cars, took about 20mins and $20 belt and i was all set.

@OP thats not a bad price to pay at the dealership for the service.

I was pleased to hear the quoted price... I managed to get the factory belt online off of ebay for $40 from an Infiniti dealer out of state.

Very nice! Little bit about handling was interesting. I wish I would've asked for a loaner when they did my 30k service the other day...

really? better handling with the 17's vs 18's? In what way? The 17's are so thin.

I'm thinking it may be my tires... I've got falken ze 912's and although it gives the car a smooth quiet ride, I'm thinking it wasn't made for handling.

^ had those tires on my last car and am not a big fan, the fk452s on the other hand are the best performance tires iv used with a decent price compared to some of the other big brands

That's what I was thinking, I guess 16" will handle even better hahaha.

I know folks that track put smaller wheels on their car but that for weight, not sure but handling. My 04 G35 Sport had 17", couldn't say if they handled any better than the 18" now but.......
