Removing the Silver Sunroof Bar

Does anybody have any experience removing this bar? I'd like to paint it without having to mask off the entire sunroof, nor would I like painting above the car; too awkward of an angle. Thanks in advance!

Looks like you may be out of luck. I just took the below screen shot from the Factory Service Manual, and it looks like the wind deflector is part of the sunroof frame. In order to remove the frame you would have to take the whole sunroof assembly out of the car.

Lol that service manual is BS, several people have removed it including me because it makes the cabin a lot quieter while driving...there are two little spring clips that just slide right out...its easy but just be careful doing it, don't force anything

There's a thread on it somewhere just search if you're curious
