spacers/rubbing

Hey guys, I'm new so don't beat me up too bad. Yes I've searched this forum and seen a lot of answers/pics about this subject. I know that every car is different and you will get a different answer/outcome from every scenario depending on what the specs are. Basically what I'm wanting is my tires flush with my fenders. I don't mind if they stick out a little, just not tucked in at all. I'm told by a local shop here after they measured the gap that the most I can run is 20MM rear and 15MM front without rubbing issues. I measured the gap myself and actually got more in the front than the rear. Front= 1 1/8" (approx 27MM) and Rear= 1" (25MM). I want to try and get this right the first time. I feel like with my measurements and the size spacer the shop suggested they would still be tucked in alot. I am lowered on H&R springs and running 20X8.5 all around with 245/35/20 tires all around. Since I dropped it the negative camber has made the wheels tuck in at the top and look terrible. Raising it is not an option since it looks like a 4x4 with 20's. I've seen guys on here with really agressive offsets/tires/wheel combos and they're sticking out of the fender an inch or more. My question is, do they not rub? Or do they just not care if they do? I can roll/pinch my front fenders to give a little more room, but the rears are already flat. This car is my daily driver so I'm not interested in modding it to the point I have to be careful where I drive every day. Just want to get it as flush as possible and still be functional. Any advice would help.

Can you tell us what the offset is for your 20X8.5 wheels. I'm no expert at this but I think it would help in figuring it out for you.

I keep trying to attach pics but it keeps saying "upload of file failed". The pics are smaller than the size limit. IDK whats going on.

It might be this site that is the problem. I have also had some trouble uploading images the past couple days. Don't know what's going on. I've been posting stuff here for years without issues.
Just keep trying and try saving the images in other formats. If you have a photobucket type of account, linking still works well.

Tried saving pics in other formats, no luck. Anyone have any advice on the spacers just from my specs?

It sounds like you don't want to be running that much camber (unless I misunderstood). Do you have camber arms/toe bolt kits? With H&Rs you really need them. If your alignment is way off I'd be sure to get that taken care of before going w/ spacers since the actual spacer gap will change quite a bit once your camber is in spec. Obviously if you've got the arms & your aligned to your liking disregard this post, lol

No worries thanks for replying.. I dont have any camber kit intalled at all. The shop was able to get the camber close enough to factory spec, I drove it for a month, took it back and they measured the tire wear and it's 100% even. I'll continue to monitor it over time. So for now, the camber is not bothering me. I was just saying since I lowered it the negative camber is making the tops of the wheels tucked in about an inch under the fender. Wanted to get some opinions on "larger than recommended" spacers from my original post to make the wheels more flush

Do you have your alignment specs? I haven't heard anyone w/ H&Rs that was able to get in spec staying w/ the OEM parts. Glad your tires are wearing evenly even though I doubt your rear toe is in spec. My B&Gs dropped about the same as H&Rs (I'm at 25.75" to the front fender lip, 26.25" at the rear) and there's no way I could get in spec on toe & camber without the SPC arms & bolts. Maybe you can post pics on imageshack and just post the link?

I do have the alignment specs somewhere. I am not within factory spec at all... Once it was lowered and aligned the shop got it as close as they could. I waited and drove a month to see The tire wear. They measured it and it's even for now.

I'm sure you're planning on keeping your G for a while, it's best to make the investment in the arms and get that alignment correct, or at least close. your tires will be fighting the road rather than rolling with it, plus the drive is better and safer when it's in spec. I'd use the money you're budgeting for spacers and get the arms, then see what your spacer size will be, I'm sure it'll be in the 15mmF & 17-20mmR range. good luck w/ whatever you decide.

i'd start by running a 15mm spacer to test fit then maybe stack a couple 3mm spacers to see where you're at.

Blnewt... Just looked at your album. Our wheels are pretty similar looking. (Your machined ones anyway)

Before spending money on spacers do a test fitting. Use washers and get the right space the first time.
If you can get the wheel bolted on tight then you can set the car down to see how it looks but do not drive with washers.
