280 All wheel horse power?

I keep on hearing and seeing videos that say the 07-08 G35x only puts about 280 Hp to the road. But I thought the 306 Hp wasn't whp, I thought it was advertised to be aw horse power.

It has 306 to the crank but after all the HP gets to the wheels that other number pops out. You can always add power to get yourself up and past that 306. Depending on what dyno you go to you will read different numbers. On the dynopack i got 309 w/ cai and exhaust.

I'm guessing this was Church's dyno, right?

these 306hp engines produce about 230-240WHP after drivetrain loss. after intake, exhaust and tune, i am now at 260WHP. was just on the dyno. Figure a 15-25% drivetrain loss for AWD and AT from the crank HP number (306).

not sure 280WHP for the stock 3.5L 306HP engine makes sense.

280 stock AWHP is basically impossible, given all factors involved. I don't give a **** what any dyno says.

Having frequented a few forums, I've gotta say there seems to be lots of folks around here sporting some very "optimistic" dyno numbers.

Maybe it's just some good marketing from dyno shops that capitalize on people wanting to validate their mods. Perhaps the shops want their customers to feel happy and refer their friends too; everybody wins when they get good results. Trouble is the numbers become fairly meaningless when you try to compare one to another.

Maybe you can just dyne your car and tell us the numbers that way we all will know instead of saying 240, maybe 260 or 280.

240awhp is what I'd expect from a stock X on a DJ.
I got 250whp from my stock RWD G and maxed out at 272whp after bolt ons and tune.

I know the second gen has more potential. I know a G37 coupe that made 330whp with long tube intakes, ART pipes, Ark Catback, and up rev tune.
