With both my 1st gen coupe and my 2nd gen sedan I always insisted that I get a drain and fill rather than a flush because of all the negative discussions regarding a flush. Each time I have gone to get a flush, I have been very hard pressed to find a dealer who will do the drain and fill. A couple of times I had to go to a Nissan dealership to get what I wanted. I have quizzed quite a few of the mechanics on this issue to get a better understanding.

On our Escalade, I recently had a flush done on the vehicle because I was beginning to get some issues with the tranny and I was the second owner and I did not know the maintenance history. I called both the Caddy dealer and a local garage that is very reputable in my area and both offered a flush and they were with $5 of each other on price. They both were using a BG machine and products. I went ahead and had it done at the dealer and I have had no problems and in fact it fixed the eratic shifting I was experiencing.

My take on it is if you perform the regular maintenance et the proper 30k intervals, a flush is not a concern. If I was going to get my Infiniti flushed I personally would seek out the BG process.
