Stillen or Borla?
Intake/Exhaust Combo Q
I know not many of you are fond of Top Speed exhaust right now due to some drama with the group buy, but I really enjoy the sound and have only a few complaints with it.
But, to the point: I was thinking about throwing on K&N Typhoon intake. What are the advantages/disadvantages of this, if any? Should I look into other intake or not even bother? I've heard that adding intake with this exhaust does not make really any sound difference.
Thoughts/advice/general statements are appreciated.
Thanks!

why not the stillen cold air intakes?
and the k&N retail for almost $450!
i dont really like the thought of short ram intakes cause of the heat issues (even with a shield).
id go for the stillen.

well you basically want to place the air filter as far away from the hot engine as possible. When an engine takes in colder air, it's packed with more oxygen, and creates more power.
and on top of that it just looks better haha

okay I see what you mean! Aren't the Stillen gen 3s difficult to install because you have to cut a bigger hole in order to make it fit correctly?
You do have to make the holes bigger but its really not that difficult man I did it myself and it brings instructions
in my opinion and with my history of intakes, my suggestion is not to waste money on the intake. It really is for looks and sound only. You will almost certainly lose some low end power with intakes all for the benefit of a few extra HP on the top end. not worth it if you ask me.

Stock airbox is perfect, just get some K&N drop in airfilters and replace the stock tubes for some Z1 HR intake pipes or other equivalent carbon/ss.
I'm thinking of wrapping my intake pipes with heat reflective gold foil to reduce the intake temps.

What does the Z1 tubes do, are they from the 350Z?
